PCP unveils Deathtoll32 as CP candidate

Hello comrades,

The People's Communist Party is proud to announce Deathtoll32 as their Presidential candidate in the upcoming 5th August elections.

This may come as a surprise for several reasons. Before I address these concerns, I'd like to say Deathtoll32 has my personal full support, and I truly believe he is an excellent member of the eUK community. He was the CP between January and February (defeating my own candidate, Relic, if I recall), has been a MP before for 6 terms, and you will be hard pressed to find many individuals who have given more to this country.

Didn't the PCP support Hassan Pesaran before?

We still do. We believe Hassan has done an excellent job during his term, and should continue to do so. However, we also believe Deathtoll32 should run as a candidate, as a competent back-up candidate in the event of Hassan's absence at the very least, but much more as a real challenge towards Hassan's government and policy. This is a perfect opportunity to really scrutinise Hassan's past performance, and see where improvements can be made.

But wasn't Deathtoll32 a UKRP member before?

Yes he was. But he is a true member of the PCP now, as he has proved again and again in his service towards the PCP, assisting in policy formulation, action planning and has shown a knack for leadership.

Is the PCP SERIOUSLY aiming for second place?

Yes and no. We're aiming, as we always do, to win. We're realistic though that the combined votes of UKRP, TUP, BTA,BCT and BEP will mean Hassan will probably win. But don't think this shows the PCP is out of the game yet – if anything, it shows PCP is a force that can't be ignored.

Here's a statement from Deathtoll32 himself:

“Greetings to everyone.

As some of you may have noticed today in-game, the People's Communist Party has decided to put me up for a Country President candidate in the coming election against Hassan. Now, first off, I wish to speak on behalf of the PCP when I tell you that Hassan is doing a fantastic job as the Prime Minister. We have no problem in allowing him to continue running the country.

However, about a week ago, the idea was raised in the PCP that the nation will need a #2 in case Hassan should disappear unforuntately. Everyone agreed that one person would need to stand in order to ensure that the British Patriots would not receive the helm. It was decided, and I'd like to thank the PCP once again so much, that I would be the backup from the PCP in-case Hassan does go AWOL. Once again, thank you to everyone in the PCP forum who supported me in doing this.

As we are not shooting for the CP, I would like to state that a manifesto is unlikely (but not completely out of the question). Should Hassan disappear and the House of Commons/War Council/Cabinet/etc. decide to impeach, I would like to state here that I will continue the work that Hassan had planned to do. So please understand that.

While I don't feel like talking about myself too much, I have to make sure that people know I can run the country and that there are no fears. I have done it before. I would never consider myself up to the standard of Hassan, but I know that I can keep the country on course for the remainder of the term if Hassan disappears.”
