Patti11 Foreign Policies- Manifesto

Day 681, 17:51 Published in Australia Australia by patti11

Hello Australia,
This article is the second part of my manifesto, foreign policies. You can read my first part on domestic issues here.

First things first, Australia in the last couple of months has been torn over the issue of Operation: Twofold Bay. The operation was a call by ex eAustralian Prime Minister Cottus Arci to join the fight against PEACE GC aggressiveness. He proposed we join EDEN on a purely defensive basis only fighting in defensive battles. The article was a hit, reaching international news (through EDEN votes, yes) and Arci's message got skewed, and by many thought it was a call to arms over Western Australia. This is what really split the nation, fight for WA or not fight for WA.

For new players, Australia was conquered by Indonesia back in BETA, and was only returned in late November last year. NSW was released first and then Victoria. We then hit a stalemate, with Indonesia not committed to releasing any more regions. However, when the Romania- Indonesia War was at its peak and Indonesia was seemingly on its knees, Romania issued us with a Mutual Protection Pact, and guaranteed us our regions back. I was Prime Minister at the time, and many of the population knew something had to give, but Indonesia was friendly to us, so I decided to negotiate with them. What resulted was a contract to release all remaining Australian regions in a timeframe of 1 region a month. We needed to purchase all companies on a buyout list in WA, a seemingly impossible task for any nation, let alone Australia. However, the buyout list was never made, and that brings us to today, with WA seemingly gone to us, through diplomatic means.

My Stance on the Issue

Did someone say Déjà vu? Australia is eerily in the same position as we were back in May, with EDEN this time offering support against Indonesia. Like then, I want to tackle diplomacy first with Indonesia, but there is no time for games this time. I can only say so much, as I don't have the information only a Prime Minister has on this issue, but I will say, I am not ruling out joining EDEN, but diplomacy with Indonesia will come first. Ultimately, I will do what is best for Australia, as that is really what we all want, don't we?

Sol

Firstly, Sol is not an acronym, it means Sun, so I don't want to see anyone spelling it SoL. Sol is a defensive regional alliance, which Australia has joined along with many smaller Asian countries (more about Sol can be read here). Sol is something we should continue to play an active part in, as Australia is and was in the same position as many other members currently. We know what these countries are going through, and knowing someone has their back is a good thing. Sol is an alliance we should be proud of, and I suspect when once PEACE eventually breaks up regional alliances will be all the rage and Sol will already have a head start over others. Sol is very much something we should stick to.

ASIO

ASIO is going to be Australia's security agency, starting on the 6th next month. I plan to work extensively with the eventual directors and Chairman (my proposed Chairman will be released in my next article on my cabinet) to get it up and functioning. Obviously only so much information can be given on the issue, but I pledge that ASIO will be a formidable information and security organisation under my iron fist rul.....in my term as Prime Minister 😃.

Thanks for reading my wall of text, tune in the next couple of days for my third and final article on my cabinet.

Let's make eAustralia better, together.
