Party President Elections

Day 2,886, 01:02 Published in India Albania by Ruler of The New World

The study of history is one I find invigorating. On par with astrophysics and molecular biology as far as awesomeness goes, it is essentially a study of human nature. Like psychology, but spanning hundreds to thousands of years. It truly is beautiful and amazing to think that our tiny, minute planet has conjured up the depth and breadth of history there is.

In our 4million or so years of existence, only the last 30,000 are actually counted as "history". However despite a very narrow lens, the shortness of human life has allowed a very great depth of information. This complemented by our unusually large brain to body-mass ratio make for interesting study, and delivered us from Australopithecus to the Homo sapiens we are today.

There is one aspect of history that particularly interests me, and that is our drive for order, for control and dominance. Now, I speak not of the power hungry like Nero and Hitler, I mean as a species.

First through theology and religion we tried to explain the universe, followed by philosophy from the likes of Socrates, then science as a modern study began to enter the fray. Now all these try to look at a universal picture, the wide framed image, which at the moment, is nigh impossible.

That is where history steps in. History is the study of humanity and and why we are what we are today. And the driving force behind history, society and humanity is one thing.

Politics.

Even in the natural world we see systems of governance. Do lion prides not have a distinct leader? Or wolf packs Alpha Wolves? Or schools of fish a central core that remains protected by the rest of the shoal? It is clear that our search for order has brought us, as the Kingdom of Animalia to a system to order our complex world. No matter what type of animal we all have a system of government.

Why am I writing this?

Well today we have our Party President elections. Since the Dictator Update it is widely assumed that the individual parties and congress within an eNation are null and void. However this is not so. Take for example any well known dictator. Say, Stalin (I am not comparing any of our dictators to him!). Stalin was assisted in all facets of his government. He had Leon Trotsky in the media, Malenkov as chief advisor, Molotov in domestic policy and many more. My point is the Soviet government was not one man.

He may be the most famous, but he was not alone!

Hence the importance of parties. The party module in eRepublik serves a crucial purpose in the eWorld. It enhances the interaction and depth in game. Now I don't care about you personal political persuasion, in real life or other, but I do care about you decisions- and that is crucial to maintain an interesting political system. Whether you are Far Right, Far left or plumb down the middle it is irrelevant so long as there is something going on.

These elections, as I have said may well be null and void. But there is a key focus to this article. There are numerous New Comers and sleepers now challenging the heavy weights in the political field.

And fair enough.

We need the active political field to diversify and gentrify this game. And with these new bloods, ex-sleepers coming back the demagogues are phasing out and fresh democracy is fading in. And to be honest, I like it!

-From the Communist Party of India we have Anirudha Dey, in the show down against destiny India
-In YUUVA India hot off (and on) the press iam dinko is competing against hard hitters Vijayakirshna and reborn form the ashes
-In the Democratic Party we have Bombay Bomb (the favourite old timer) up against four newbies: Azez Ahmad, Anish Khare, Subodh Ghorpade and yalman umar
-From The Peoples Party there is Skeleton Baba against level 73 rituraj
-No new players unfortunately in the Democratic Party

It is an interesting mix to say the least. Now keeping in mind what I said before, if a stable, effective government needs all the support it can get and this new blood and activity should help.

Note that I am not encouraging you to vote in any way, BUT, keep in mind what I said.

The United Nations Human Rights Council --> Let's be active like them!

Now I a no communist, but I am decidedly left wing and I think Freedom of speech is one of the most important things society has to offer. And I would like to see more of it in this game, speech that is. The Media should be filled with political discussion both real and electronic.

I want to see this fresh blood revolution (should it happen) hit hard, fast and strong. I want it to bring a new era of politically deep game play evolve. And most of all I want this game to be the political thriller I signed up for!

Oh, and before you vote... good luck to you all!

Vive le liberté
Vive l'égalité
Vive l'Inde

Another revolution, similar, but more real somehow...

Real eyes
Realise
Real lies
