Party animal #10 - UKPP

Day 2,696, 03:40 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by VoodooMike71

It’s time to leave UKPP and take on the final leg of my hugely underwhelming epic voyage through the top ten* eUK parties. And that means only one thing: heading into the party that sits on top of the list - TUP.

There always seems to be a party when I leave

But before making a triumphant return to the party that spawned me, first there’s the business of reviewing UKPP

As has become customary in the top parties, they seem to spot what’s going on very quickly. In UKPP’s case, FightAndProduce got onto the party feed before I’d even had chance to say hello...

F&P wins the Most On-The-Ball eUK Citizen award - make that man CP immediately!

Every time I switch party I write the article, post a farewell message on the old party feed, join the new party and then wait ten minutes before I can post a hello on the new feed. In FightAndProduce time that ten minutes is like a week - he has time to bask lizard-like in the sunny glow of a successful congress election, read the eUK press, say hello to new party members and still have time to secretly pull the strings that run the eUK**, despite what any incumbent CP or diktator may think. Impressive stuff.

Also, note the comment from Mad Pauly. An alcohol theme has been developing and Mad Pauly gave an instant glimpse into how UKPP differ from UKRP. While UKRP desperately tried to hide the booze, UKPP called me out for being a lightweight. Nice.

UKPP don’t hide the booze, they claim that yours isn’t big enough

After the initial flurry of activity, things settled down a bit. UKPP are noticeably more focussed on Proper Party Stuff and influencing government - something I hadn’t seen very much of for a long time. There isn’t a huge amount of “banta” on the party feed, but the Srs Bsns is regularly punctuated by King William The Great being a bit odd, along with plenty of Pannonian nomad doing his thang. I hope he continues as my Official Stalker - I’ll miss him if he goes.

Pannonian nomad ponders his next move...

The main activity during my stay involved the party getting their heads down and working on the CP election. Their officially supported candidate was Max Blue, so - along with a very successful congress election - that made for a very good month for UKPP. In fact the only black spot was BigAnt turning up and being a bit of a…

So, in summary, UKPP are a proper party doing proper party stuff. They’re a bit light on the lulz - especially compared to some of the other top five - but then the time others spend arsing around, UKPP spends on punching well above their weight in elections. Swings and roundabouts, innit?

UKPP are a good party, especially when it comes to taking notice of what's going on and deciding what to do about it. If you’re a serious player looking to advance your political career in a decent party, UKPP may be your new home.

Just don’t admit to drinking halves.

Oh, and when it comes to their official VoodooMike Impenetrable Party Activity Rating (where the lower the score the more active the party and which - I've only just noticed at this very late date - I should have called VIPAR), they score a respectable…

...although I’ve calculated that if Pannonian nomad hadn’t followed me into UKPP this would have been a less impressive seven

And so it’s time for me to return to my old haunt in TUP, which I’ll attempt to review in exactly the same way as I have done for the other parties. I’ll let you know how I get on.

* top eleven - blame one of the little parties for messing up the format.
** because we all know that F&P runs the show, right?
