Partings

Day 752, 04:25 Published in Japan Japan by Laurana Psion

It is with great regret, that I hereby tender my resignation from the Tequila Fitness Club. I have many fond memories of the TFC, both old and new, and although I am now leaving the ranks of this most ancient and noble club of tequila, I do believe that I am doing so on good terms.

Before you jump to any conclusions, let me assure you that I have no real gripes with the TFC, whether regarding its leadership or its plotted course for the future. Instead, it is more to do with my odd reluctance to be part of any true political party. I have no set philosophy (and never have) and the parties in eJapan are such that many share similar ideals and goals, making it harder for one to differentiate between parties. Thus, I would feel it would be inaccurate and dishonest to align myself to “an ideology” by joining a party.

“So, why did you join a party?”

As some of you may know, I once died. Following my resurrection, I was bewildered and lost. Coming back from the dead does that to you, y'know? As a result, I decided to join a party in hopes of getting quicker orientated to the “current eJapan”. I also had the time and desire to run for the Diet, and as such, I would be killing two birds with one stone. I ultimately chose the TFC because it was the party that had the largest number of familiar faces, and with time, I got to know many newer ones. An added bonus was that the TFC ideal, since its founding, was to be a “party of individuals”, and as such, it had little if any fixed ideology at all.

It has been mentioned before by Angrr that the current TFC is not that of old, and I must declare that he is absolutely right. This is of course no surprise considering the fact that the current membership is largely composed of newcomers, and very few of the old-timers are still with the TFC today. This though, is not necessarily a bad thing.

Although the current leadership and direction of the TFC under no1kevlin is unconventional to say the least, I do believe that it is still largely faithful to the TFC ideal of a “party of individuals”.

In fact, being composed mainly of newer members, it is essentially a new party – albeit with a familiar name – and as such, even if it were not true to the origins of the TFC, it is every bit their right to plot whatever course they wish, without being bound by the past.

In any case, the “new face” of the TFC is not what has prompted my resignation.

But then, “Why are you leaving?”, you ask.

Well, at present, I have no current ambitions to return to the hallowed halls of our Diet, and having largely reintegrated back into eJapanese society, I have no further need to be a formal member of any party. Thus, this is the ideal time for me to start afresh politics-wise, and pursue a long-time idea of mine; one which cannot be accomplished while still a member of the TFC and one on which I will provide more details in the near future.

For old time’s sake, I would like to end by giving all TFC members a final valediction, from one member to another:
