Partial-Reset Proposal

I know this is going to be unpopular but I’m doing this for the good of eRepublik.

Let’s face it: As time goes on and on, more and more players will achieve “god of war” ranks and will have incredible strength. Pretty soon, it will take decades for new players to just be in a competing level with older players. The game will die out, as newer players find out they are insignificant and it takes too much time to develop.

The problem with “no-reset” games is the rich get richer and the poor gets left out. That is why almost all online games like Utopia, Space Federation, Star Kingdoms, etc, all have resets, FULL resets.

I’m just proposing a partial-reset because a full reset would be unfair. Many players, including me, invested RL money in this game. A partial-reset will keep young players in while still giving seniors the advantage.

There are two solutions. We can either increase the standards, for example, increase the points required to reach each military rank. The problem with that is, it will then take twice as long for new players under this system to advance. Boredom. Or, we can decrease what we have. I think decreasing is the most viable option.

This is what I propose in a partial-reset:

1) Half everyone’s strength, rank points, and experience points.
2) Liquidate everyone’s existing companies at full value and then half the amount.
3) Everything else will remain the same. Medals, awards, military units, newspapers, etc, will remain unchanged.
4) A partial-reset will be applied every 500 days.

Many players might think this is unfair that they are losing something for nothing, but the truth is, EVERYONE is losing something, so it’s fair.

For the future of eRepublik, please take this suggestion under consideration.
