Overview of the WW [ENG]

The end of the war?
With both sides wearing out and battles decreasing, I think it’s time for us to have an overview of the war. Except for skirmishes in the Balkans it seems that this world war is coming to an end, or at least a well needed pause.

But it’s been a thrilling war with action everyday, let’s take a recap and ask ourselves the question; what side is winning the war?

April 22 2010:



Poland had made a failed attempt at attacking Mexico and thus not only spending gold but also damaging relations with the US. Still Poland and EDEN dominated Europe, holding many key regions like Aquitaine, Rhone Alps, Schlewsig-Holstein and Hamburg and Brandenburger and Berlin. Holding these regions meant weakening the PHOENIX economy but also giving benefits for EDEN. The European occupation meant giving two high regions to Poland, the strongest country in the EDEN alliance.

For a long time however PHOENIX had been fighting hard to liberate France and Germany and on April 22 many regions were already secured. Add to this the fact that EDEN and US relations were at its worst at the time and it’s plain to see that things didn’t look well for EDEN.

April 24 2010:



The PHOENIX attack was inevitable and a few days later it all hit the fan. Slovenia went through and successfully reclaimed Rhone Alps, meanwhile Russians managed to take both Pomerania and Berlin. This was a huge setback for Poland, losing two high regions plus one of there original regions. As PHOENIX dominated in Europe, things were looking dark for EDEN.

April 25 2010:



While Spain did manage to retake Rhone Alps from Slovenians, it was of no real help for EDEN. Spain already had a high wood region and it would be pretty much impossible for Spain to swap it back to Poland, as both Germany and France stood in the way.

So far the war had been a disaster for EDEN. But things would change.

As citizens of the new world logged in today, one thing surely caught everyone’s attention. Croatia and Romania where mounting a full scale attack on Hungary, and they where wining!

For the rest of the war, focus would be on Hungary, and also the Cromanians that conquered region after region. This was the turn point in the war and a great success for EDEN. But the war was far from over.


April 27 2010:




Alongside with all of EDEN and the USA, Cromania had now occupied almost all of Hungary. Central Hungary was the prize in the EDEN/Bro campaign, taking it would mean a disaster for all of PHOENIX. Croatia launched attack upon attack but every attempt at taking CH was a failure, Hungary and PHOENIX put in everything they got, knowing that losing CH could eventually mean losing the war.

Meanwhile Greece launched a minor attack on Turkey, hoping to distract them from Hungarian battles. This however proved to be more then a success as Greece and USA managed to conquer Mediterranean coast of Turkey (a Turkish high grain region) and would eventually hold almost half of the Turkish regions.

Brazil also launched an attack on Spain in hope to eventually retake French regions, the attack didn’t succeed though as Spain signed MPP😒 with almost all EDEN nations in order to defend themselves. The invasion was called of and Brazil only made it to the shores of Andalucia.

April 28 2010



The day of days, Hungary lost Hello Kitty. What more needs to be said? China was aided by all of EDEN/Bro and when the battle closed, Hello Kitty was back in Chinese hands. Hungary had lost there high iron and Hungarian economy went downhill. Although managing to regain the control in their original regions, the loss of Hello Kitty will leave a permanent mark, Hungary have lost their former power and Serbia is now undisputed as the number one in PHOENIX.

And to make matters worse for PHOENIX, Australia managed to liberate Western Australia and it’s high grain and diamonds from Indonesians.

And so the war goes on
During these days the main events of the war took place. What follows is a drawn out struggle between Hungary and Cromania in which both sides fight to gain the initiative. Germany liberates Schlewsig-Holstein from Sweden, fairly easy with the aid from Russia. Turkey fights of the Greece invasion and Canada makes a failed attempt at invading France.

But the question remains, who won the war?

Counting in resources only it’s a tie. PHOENIX lost WA and Hello Kitty, while Poland lost RA and Berlin. One could say that Hello Kitty holds the most value as it supplied Hungary with it’s weapons but such discussions could go on forever.

Also both sides has put up with enormous sums in the war, for PHOENIX however this resulted in liberating Germany and improving the relations with France.

The fact remains however that this has been a moral victory for EDEN. Croatia and Romania managed to stand up against one of the mightiest countries in PHOENIX, Hungary. This will not be forgotten by either side any time soon. Also for Greece who managed to conquer half of Turkey.

The major victories for PHOENIX (so far) has been to liberate regions in France and Germany, not conquering the enemies own territories. They have helped their friends, not defeated their enemies and half the fun in an eRepublik war is to humiliate your enemies.

When looking back at this war, PHOENIX will probably remember it as the war in which they lost Hello Kitty. EDEN and Brolliance on the other hand will remember it as the war in which they proved that Hungary wasn’t invincible.
