Join the new world

As you might have guessed after seeing the title and the picture above I am planning on running for the Presidency of Japan. In this article I will tell a little about myself for those that might not know me and what I might be able to do during my Presidency if I get elected and supported by congress.


About me

I have been a citizens of Japan since this game was still in the Beta phase which means I have been playing this game for over 3 years making me the oldest citizen of Japan. During this time in Japan I have held numerous position in the Japanese government including the position of President. In short I have been around the block and know what is expected of me as President.


My goals

JaSKo
I have been a big supporter of JaSKo a union of Japan and South Korea. Currently we already have close ties with South Korea and have been working together economically and militarily with Training wars and joint military operations. My goal is to formalize this relationship and intertwine the Japanese and South Korean government. I believe that doing this will strengthen our international position and bring more security for us in a region with several countries able to crush us if we were to be without help. A good example of this is the War with Canada in which South Korea was key to our defense.

Forum
The state and the way our current forum is being run has been problematic. There have been several attempt to get the forum running smoother, but the real problem is the current administrator of the forum. Although I appreciate what Kokawa has done for us with the forum, the fact is that Kokawa just isn’t active enough to properly manage the forum. Seeing as Kokawa is unwilling to hand over the forum or give someone full admin rights to help out I think the only solution is to get a new forum. Depending on how the JaSKo plan goes we might even consider sharing a forum with South Korea.

Congress
As a congressmen i have had some problem with the fact that congress has been somewhat neglected by the current cabinet. If I get elected as President I plan on getting congress more involved in the decision making. I will inform the congress of any plans and ask them for their advise. However it will only be advise, congress wont have the final say in what will happen. Congress members have simple been too slow and inactive to function properly. A lot of the time decision have to be made within hours or days and as we have seen some discussions and votes in congress can take several days. The government simple cant afford waiting for the congress members to make up their mind.

Community
A lot of people have been disappointed by how the community has developed the last few months. The forum activity has slowed down and the same has happened to the media. By writing presidential reports in the media and keeping citizens involved in the decision making on the forum I am hoping to get the community active on more platforms than just the irc channel.
