Japan joining PANAM
Congress is currently voting on whether or not Japan should join the new PANAM alliance. Although the vote has not ended yet, it is already clear that Japanese congress will approve joining the new alliance. Even before the vote, it already seemed clear that Japan is forced to join the new alliance as there aren’t any other viable option for Japan to choose from, with Japan’s main ally(USA) creating/join the alliance.
PANAM
With the main alliances in Erepublik falling apart, the US SoS=Secretary of State has proposed the creation of a new and mainly American based alliance to be created. Currently seven countries have been invited by the US to join the alliance, three of them from the Americas(Canada, Brazil & Argentina), two from Europe(France & Spain) and two from Asia(Japan, Indonesia). There have been no announcement yet by the SoS of the US of any countries who have accepted, but there have been rumours that the Canadian Congress is leaning towards not joining the PANAM alliance, which would be a significant, but not disastrous blow to the beginning of this new alliance. Indonesia who had also been invited has already rejected the offer.
Poland & Hungary teaming up ?
There have been talks between Poland and Hungary to team up. The two countries which are friends in RL have a very different relationship in Erepublik, with Poland being a important EDEN member and Hungary being a former Phoenix member. But there are people in both countries who would like to see this change, and making a RL friendship and in-game one. However opinions are split as some people prefer to stay in-character and not take in consideration any RL relation, and base their decisions purely on in-game history.
Note: I’m sry for the lack of news reports lately. This was mainly due to the holidays and it also doesn’t help that I have stitches in my mouth from the cutting and pulling out of my last two wisdom teeth.

vote + Don Hertzfeldt ftw
I really have missed a lot...
Goddamned wisdom teeth. I probably will have to do a surgery to get one of them removed. ;_;
Ouch, I will have to deal with that in a few years :/
For those that still need to deal with their wisdom teeth, it really isn't that bad, at least not as bad as you will probably imagine it to be. Of the operation itself the Anesthesia is probably the most annoying, The pulling and cutting itself doesn't rly hurt. You just feel a lot of pressure on your jaw and some crackling noises. For me the most annoying part is that you probably cant, or just dont want to eat the first few days, because your mouth is so sore and you cant open it more than about 0,5-1 centimetre. You probably still wont be able to eat pleasantly for a about a week or more. Plus you will need to take painkillers after the Anesthesia has worked out, but again, it really isnt as bad as you will imagine it to be, not that it will be pleasant, but it wont be to bad. But than again, I might just have been lucky with mine, I cant promise your extraction will be going the same way.
Is extraction always necessary? Can a human being successfully live with his wisdom teeth not being removed?
And more importantly - why the hell do we have them in the first place if they're such a pain..
"Is extraction always necessary?"
Not always, sometimes there is enough space for your wisdom teeth to just be left alone, but in a lot of cases it isnt, and this means that they wont come through properly which can cause them to decay, this can cause all sorts of problem for you dental health. There is also the risk that the wisdom teeth might push on your other teeth which will cause overlapping teeth and other problems.
"Can a human being successfully live with his wisdom teeth not being removed?"
If they came through properly without causing any problems for your other teeth than yes, if they do cause a problem than no.
"why the hell do we have them in the first place if they're such a pain.. "
There are only theories about this, the main one being that our ancestors needed them because they had poor dental hygiene and because of the food they ate. Now a day we have better dental hygiene, which means we dont lose as many teeth as our ancestors and our food has become softer, which means we need less chewing power than they.
I suggest you just google it, i am sure you can get better answers that way.
Yeah, ironically the number on average of wisdom teeth people have is going down. It use to be that everyone had a full set of wisdom teeth, but apparently the average is dropping to 3 or 2 due to genetics.
Who knows? Maybe in a few lifetimes from now people will no longer have to get wisdom teeth pulled.
I didn't have any.
