The APF Militia was a great thing for me. I needed to meet some people, get involved on rizon and forums, and get some true friends in this game. I had been offered the spot of lieutenant in the militia, and a chance to lead one of our 4 platoons. This was the day before the entire militia came falling down.
Now, people are showing there true colors. Its clear who supported who, who disliked who, and who wanted to crush who. As everyone scrambles to make new militias, a lot of them are being to ignorant to notice one thing. THERE IS A REASON THE OLD MILITIA COLLAPSED.
The old militia collapsed because of politics. If that militia was not in a party, just us people all in separate parties with no affiliation, nothing would have been PTO'd, because there would be nothing to PTO. So, if I end joining or making a new militia, it would not be associated with politics. It ruined a great thing.
I like to keep politics and fighting on opposite sides of my spectrum, kind of like religion and math, erepublik and real life, and my feelings of how BS game 7 of the NBA Finals was and this article!!! (whoops 😛
).
***PS: There are no shots here at any old militia members. That was the best month of my elife there, and I wish we could get it back.
***BTW: No disrespect to any former militia members. I think we can all agree there are no shots taken at anyone, and these are simply cold hard facts.

politics have done much worse than this... but its not easy to start a new militia. i think we can do it though. i see a United States Worker's Militia in our future.

Well, the real question is whether political militias are even a good idea at all. The players of this game have created an kind of civil society where virtually every party has a militia, and those organizations are quite influential in politics. Where does the Nazi Party end and the Sturmabteilung begin ? Or vice versa. Hitler himself ended up purging the SA after he came to power - and you have one party, SEES, which for all practical purposes IS a militia both in its structure and its symbolism. I think the players of this game need to take matters in hand and get the game back under control. No matter how noble the people or how well organized the party, these party militias are a blight on this game.
I was the colonel for the old APF Militia (damn you jude) and i will say right now that our militia was vital to retention after a couple months almost every singe militia member had a party job, so i think they are very important
