Recently, I crossed swords with someone. I made this comment on his newspaper article.
Within minutes, he sent me this scathing private message.

I'm guessing that somewhere within each team's meta game, there exists some form of reference to players who are guaranteed trustworthy, unlike you know who.

This game needs a method of communicating that information to the general population & because the majority of players don't participate in the meta game, we have to find a way to do that in game. Otherwise honest players, who just want to have a little innocent fun, are going to continue to be victimized by mean, jealous types with bulging pockets, plain shoes & mismatched socks.

With respect to some feedback received by pm, what I'd like to see is for each team to have an in game place, maybe the DoD newspaper, where they could list the names of honest players. That way, everyone sees it. The main problem with this, is that this list would have to be player regulated.
However, on each team there are well known, trusted players. Among them, are some who have experience buying supplies away from the market. Regardless, if one of them says, "player xyz is trustworthy" & other equally respected players agree with him, then that player's name goes on the list.
In other words, unknown, unproven players could never add names to the list, or vouch for someone that someone else nominated. Feasible or?

94 hard-won, deserving subs are better than 1000 dubious subs which were got without effort. You get the feeling you achieved something good, without screwing up other people. Writing good articles are part of this satisfaction as well.

lol thank you guys! While I agree with what you've both said, his pm didn't bother me. As a matter of fact, if nothing else, it made me find that great smiling girl gif! 😃😃 I used the "hurt" angle because I needed an article intro, which couldn't be seen as player harassment. 😛😛
Really, I hope it makes some teams develop some concrete ways to deal with these con artists, who scam their players. No doubt some of these players end up leaving the game, which in turn hurts the team.
I wish that I had a better command of smiley faces. Also, the 2 little girl images are gifs. Are they working or just randomly?
@ elAngelo, when you see players asking to trade cc for tanks, do you share the names of those players?
Because that's what we need, to share that information & get it out there for anyone whose looking & not necessarily asking first.

For the record, I don't use weapons very often & when I do, I buy them off of the market. But despite that, I can vouch for one player who is well known & very much respected, who will trade weapons for cc. Admins closed the contract section of black marketing ages ago, after that forums went down as well those parts of this game were a good way to reduce the scammers % here and to punish those players who brake the contract. I quess owners didn't had the money to buy a new improved server back then so insted they continued in the manner they started opening the dioor for all kind of a cheaters and scammers on so called 'black market'. I had a trusted friend from Hungary who started to mediate between transactions (for a small% fee) maybe this is a possitive step towards safer black marketiring or, as you mentioned in article, creating a white lists of players.

I don't remember the old contracts so much, but I remember the forums. It's too bad they're gone, even if not that many people used them. I bought my first house from a seller that I found on the forums & I remember wondering if I was being scammed as I donated my gold to him. But he was great! It may have been ZigaZaga. : )
I thought of having 3rd party money holders / goods exchange, but that puts a lot of pressure on the 3rd person to be available all of the time & to give up their own play time for everyone else who needs them.
The simplest thing I can think of for now, is a central registry of honest players, that if I look at it & see "xyz" player vouched by dSoKre, agreed by Blagota, then I know, Ok that player is someone honest to do business with. Hoping for something like that for each team.

& since I'm in here anyway, right now, I have mentioned Helen Moon in the MU, as someone to trust, but ideally, the location of each team's list should be available to all players, regardless of team. I think the logical place would be the DoD newspaper, assuming it was kept up to date. I think that it's the easiest paper to find in any eCountry, even if it hasn't been used in awhile.
There's a question of profitability when the 3rd person is involved, in that case those weps would be more expensive so probably the best solution is those white list sellers, the more the merrier.
