ONE Counterintelligence Coup

Day 1,644, 17:50 Published in USA Ireland by Fitisin

The last two days have provided ONE with the initiative and a clear advantage before a shot has been fired in the coming US/Hungarian War.

In the past few weeks, Hungary as you know has been carving a path through northern France, while Bulgaria has wiped Turkey. Poland continues to solidify its hold on Northern Europe, while our Allies Croatia and Greece have traded regions with their ONE neighbors.

We've all been awaiting the moment when Hungary would run out of French provinces to conquer that did not border eUS territories in Spain and France. With Poland beating us to the NE proposal during our aborted invasion of northern Europe there was no way that our government would let that happen again.

Well.....

Hungary attacked Brittany, France - conquering the region and gaining a border with two eUS states. At that moment, the eUS government would have been ready to make a Natural Enemy proposal against Hungary.

Sometime yesterday, a person posing as eUS President Artela on IRC convinced Congressman Ghost Killah to make a Natural Enemy proposal against...FRANCE.

Sneaky Hungarian Spies with Sneaky Spy Glasses

Voting that proposal down took 24 hours. The real President Artela immediately proposed Hungary as our Natural Enemy.

That Proposal has 17 hours (as of publication) to go. Hungary's NE proposal will be enacted in 9 hours at 4-5 AM eRep time (which is also happily for me Pacific Standard Time)

This means that Hungary can choose the time of attack for optimal ONE battle damage while we Americans are sleeping it off (as we should be).

So...they got us again, and it isn't a good start to this coming war.

Arm yourselves America, it's gonna be a long couple months.

Blaming Ghost Killah (who has resigned from Congress) is a non-starter. Presidential or Executive Directives via IRC should be confirmed by a password sent via PM in the game. Props to Relorian for pointing out this simple failsafe via shout.
