Now that I am home, and it is my weekend, I have some time to collect my thoughts and update you on the war effort a bit.

I'd like to first address some criticism leveled against the strategic decisions, particularly in regard to Quebec. That evening we had won Prince Edward Island, but at the same time the fall in Quebec had collapsed to around -40000. We assembled a team of tanks that would wake up earlier than 6AM to specifically tank. I woke up around 5am.

When we awoke, we were greeted with a -70000 wall that was growing to the 100000+ it finished at.

Our allies found that it was easier to advance on the Russian front and decided that Quebec was indefensible. At that moment we, too, decided that Quebec was lost and attempted a retreat to counter attack a russian territory. At that point, the retreat button caused a fatal error which has been a familiar refrain during this war. As it turned out, PEACE was able to take us on both the Russian and Quebec fronts that day, so even if our allies had helped out, we would not have won. The battle end was simply too early for people in EST, CST, and PST.

Even if we had not attacked PEI at all, we would have failed in Quebec. Even if we had spent the entirety of the governments existing gold reserves, we would have failed in Quebec. PEACE spent thousands of gold to take that province, and in this game especially, gold makes the difference between victory and defeat.

As it happened, we did win PEI, which bought us another day to launch our counter attack. You have probably seen it, if you looked at the wars list today, that a host of regions are being attacked by pro Canadian forces. Why Canadian forces are not being liberated brings us back to that retreat button.

Suffice to say, when we tried to use it again for Saskatchewan yesterday, it failed. We spent hours attempting to have the admin correct the problem, only to have them say it would be ready this morning....in fact, ready after Saskatchewan had already finished. However, this was just in time for european time zones to wake up and utilize itself, and to place most canadian regions under the UK, and not attackable at the present time.

As far as I'm really concerned, we can defeat PEACE, and we will eventually defeat them I can assure you that. What we cannot defeat are bugs in this game that have three times now affected North Americans at extremely inconvenient times.

I certainly am not using this as a case to whine or to complain or to blame all of our defeats on random elements of chance, just to say that if we appear confused or we have not updated orders, and if the liberation of Canadian provinces has been slower than we want recently, it is because the game itself has prevented these orders from being carried out.

We will regain these provinces, we will take back North America. But I will say this: we will choose to spend our resources wisely and with frugality. And if it may seem as if we are losing provinces because of this, or that if we had only spent a bit more and we would have had X,Y, and Z, please trust us, and please be assured that Gaidal Cain, Coda, and myself are in near constant contact with our allies through IRC, MSN, and in game.

We will win this, not by spending all of our gold on one glorious battle....but slowly, surely, and methodically. We will make you aware of this in days to come, as it happens.

For now, buy Victory Bonds, help other Canadians find and execute the orders of the General or Defense Minister, and work together towards the common cause of freedom for Canada.
