On the new Constitution

Day 780, 15:13 Published in Austria USA by stancel

The Constitution needs upgrading, I would agree with that. Nonetheless I am sure there are many things that a lot of people, including myself, will disagree with.

Monarchy

The democratic process should be respected. I think there should be debate and that it shouldn't be rushed through. I know it is very likely that a monarchy would be established, something which I oppose greatly. I am for a republic. The Minister of Justice refers to himself as our Prince. The self-styled Kaiser is Wilhelm, I'm not sure if that has changed. In my opinion, I wouldn't want him to be Kaiser, I would rather Karantanec be Kaiser than him. If Austria is changed into a monarchy, it should be an elective monarchy so there is more choice in the matter.

Alliances
The current Constitution references Austria as a member of PEACE, which is effectively a dead alliance. It is for this reason and for this reason alone that I have thought an update was necessary. I don't think the Constitution should mention alliances as things are changing so much in this game. The Constitution is a domestic document and should be alliance-neutral although Austria doesn't have to be. However, the Constitution can include information about the process of changing alliances.

Style
I agree that the old Constitution wasn't written well, it was actually an outline. You can view it here. The Constitution should be written in paragraph form. It should be grammatically correct and spelled right. Excessive capitalization should be avoided, because in English, this is archaic. Capitalize mainly or only proper nouns.

Ambassadors
It wouldn't hurt to add a few more useful positions that can be thought of. I would like to see the ambassador program expanded (I am a former US Ambassador to Slovakia) as long as it doesn't become bureaucratic. Right when I left the US for Austria in September (for unrelated reasons), they were assigning "content control" bureaucrats to hassle Ambassadors about their writing. Even if I had not left the US I would have resigned as Ambassador at that point. They already required me to write a private report to them each week and then a different public report and publish the latter twice in both countries. Being an Ambassador should be fun not like that.

There are other things but that is all I can think of right now.
