On Racism
Simulare
[rey-siz-uh m]

2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon orfostering such a doctrine; discrimination.
3. hatred or intolerance of another race or other races.
Over the past few weeks, I have seen this label plastered about eRepublik at an alarming rate and I felt obliged to post an article. I fear that despite the fact that I am posting a carefully thought out article that will contain nothing that can be perceived as racism, I expect that “racism” will be labeled. I am willing to deal with those consequences.
As a society, we must not permit racism the opportunity to gain a foothold, regardless of the medium. We must live our lives as though our race and origin are unimportant and must embrace the differences that make us unique and yet similar at the same time. That does not mean that we must agree with one another regarding political, social, religious, or other personal goals. We must not fear those who disagree with us and we are free to debate them publically and privately. That is not always the case on eRepublik.
A few days back, I posted a simple article entitled “Know Your Enemy” It depicted the photo of an animal that a particular political entity has chosen to be its mascot. To my knowledge, that animal is not directly associated with any race or ethnicity, but rather, a political group. Am I not free to debate a political group? It is my belief that this particular group of politically and socially united individuals does not have my interests in mind and are here for their own personal and political gains. Is that racism?
I have an opinion about a political group, not an ethnicity or a race. If I vote against you in an election because I disagree with you, am I being racist? If I try to share my opinions about what I perceive your intentions to be, is that racist?
I don’t care for a political party. I have no concern over where they are from, what they look like, or the language they speak. I am concerned that they wish to overtake my nation’s government for their own personal goals. I do not trust you from a political and role-playing aspect. From a personal angle, I’d likely get along well with any or all of you.
This is a game but it has the ability to poke us and prod at our national and social identities and as such, we may be more prone to be defensive (or offensive) than we might be in a nice game of Poker or World of Warcraft.
Can we refrain from labeling people with the term racist and instead reserve that for those sorry individuals who truly and deeply hate other people based solely on the color of their skin?

GP, this, (blank) was a rebuttal to all of the comments and insinuations levied against the author (Doc Dearden) of this article http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/defeat-the-turkish-invaders-1727421/1/20
I read opinions about a political parties objectives as he (the author) perceives them - I do not see racism and I for one am tired of that label being used to silence opposition.
Omg finally someone did this. I thought I would have to, but I lack writing skill.
