On Neutrality and Nonalignment
Myles Robinson
There have been accusations made lately that the United States is, like Singapore, a "neutral" nation. Ever since we departed from the eRepublik Defense and Economic Network our critics have used this to justify slights made against us and to demean the foreign policy of our nation. This accusation is based on some confusion about the peculiar foreign policy that the United States has been pursuing for much of the past month.
The eUSA is not a neutral nation. We do not just sit around doing nothing and never fighting or talking to anyone. That makes the game boring.
We have foreign policy goals. We have friends and we have enemies. We have our bros. No, the United States is not a neutral nation. We are merely non-aligned with the bureaucratic, foreign policy-restricting superalliances. This does not mean, however, that we cannot work with them towards any mutual goals. It merely means that we are not restricted to blindly following the decisions of other countries that may have foreign policy goals opposed to our own. This grants us freedom to act in the best interests of our nation.
However, this does not mean we are completely non-aligned. We love our Bros, and would do anything for them. We love Australia, Ireland, and Japan. We love Canada so much that they live inside of us. If anyone messes with the bros, they mess with us. We share special relations with other individual nations, and would like to continue to keep those relationships.
Again, we are not neutral. Our non-alignment allows us to act independently. This means that one day people of our nation can justly criticize Poland for what was, in our opinion, a foreign policy blunder, and the next I can sit down and have a civil conversation with our Polish counterparts when we have a similar international concern, such as the chaos that has recently engulfed the world. We have goals, and we will work with nations that help us pursue those goals, regardless of their international affiliation. We will fight those nations who oppose our goals or threaten the security of our nation or our friends. To achieve these goals successfully, though, it will take clear communication and coordination with those nations who do have the same objectives as the United States.
We want to, first and foremost, protect our territory and the territory of our Bros from invasion. We want to see our friends like China, South Africa, and Australia have control over the fate of their original territories again. We want to continue working with our Indian friends to secure Karnataka, a territory that we pay for based on what price we negotiate with India. We want nations like North Korea, Peru, Thailand, and India to stop facing constant (and often successful) PTO attempts. We want Croatia and Greece to know that we love them. We like to see international leaders who threaten us, even mockingly, given the boot. And we'd like to let the world know that our Spai is way cooler than spy wannabe.
Any nation that opposes us in these endeavors we will fight, regardless if they are in Phoenix, EDEN, Sol, the Entente, or whatever new large alliances creep out on the world stage. Any nation that can help us towards accomplishing whatever foreign policy priorities this nation sets we will work with, regardless of international affiliation. If any nation has their own concern and wants help, we will lend them an open ear and consider if it is within the best interests of our citizens and/or our friends to help. We will stand by our Bros no matter what. And we are not joining Phoenix; they are fighting our friends and allies across the globe, and we will fight them for that, and will continue to do so for as long as they continue to hold regions from our friends. If an eUS ever joined Phoenix without them changing their ways, then I can assure you that I would have nothing to do with such a government.
As a postscript, I think calling Singapore neutral is misleading too, because they are definitely a threat to MONTANA and harboring international terrorists.

Well written, sah.

Sexeh article is sexeh. Very nicely written =^-^=
What about Poland? What about Romania and Spain. Sure they may be self defeating douches, but will we stand by them or have we turned them away?
BROS4LIFE
Call it whatever you like, I'm a big fan of our new place in the world. We don't need no stinkin' superalliance.
USA! USA! USA!
Too much drama
lol trying to differentiate neutral from non-aligned is like trying to differentiate salmon from pink.
It just makes you look like a fag.
wannabe spai is tempbanned btw
So long article, and I with you friends!
@One Eye: Communication is still open with them and we're willing to work with each other when we have the same goals.
"This means that one day people of our nation can justly criticize Poland for what was, in our opinion, a foreign policy blunder, and the next I can sit down and have a civil conversation with our Polish counterparts when we have a similar international concern, such as the chaos that has recently engulfed the world."
And we're currently trying to MPP Spain to help against a very possible invasion on Spain soon due to the chaos these past few days have caused.
There is a dolphin in this article, it is therefor epic.

You love so many countries are you are protecting so much their territorial integrity. How about India?
montaigne
montorg: Learn to read. We are renting Karnataka.
I love how a "neutral" nation like us(the US) is almost always the highest damage dealer in a battle when we come to the party. All we need is an invite, but sometimes our so called friends forget to call.
I like our new place in the world too. You notice spain seems quick to make peace and an mpp now though huh? total reversal from a few days ago. I wonder what changed 😛
One Eye: you are a brilliant economist and strategist, and you know far more about this game than I do.
But who did we turn away? Poland?
Really?
What have we done that we have not apologized for a thousand times over?
It's only my opinion, but I think we need to stand next to our stalwart allies. But those who have announced to us that they are no longer our allies, no longer our friends-- I think we need to wish them well and let them pursue their own course.
Anything else is denial, unrealistic, and self-destructive.
Fake Spai has been tempbanned :3

Save Montana. XD
Well said. eAmericans don't sit on their hands.
Terrorists named "admin" need to dai!!! XD
We are a small and neutral nation here in eSingapore. We voted to allow you to extradite the Admin user and try him for his crimes, You simply have not sent anyone to collect him.
And We did already into Montana 😛 As I write this I'm sitting in eMissoula, sipping on some local micro brew and enjoying the freedom to have all the eGuns I want 😛
@JBB: Poland was just going through a hissy fit brought on by phenomenal power and a swelled ego. Nations, even gigantic nations can't win in Erep. It takes an alliance. Splitting EDEN by rejecting Poland/Romania/Spain is the key to our rapid downfall.
That's why being neutral is lame. Being unaligned is lame.
MPPs with Spain and Poland are passing, and all is right in EDEN again.
Never forget that neutral is lame. As lame as the UK.
Big vote from Croatia!
