Good afternoon America. I’m happy to present the latest interview of long time soldier, Deificus!

Q: To start, what kind of experience do you have?

A: In the JCS-led Military: I am a retired General of the Mobile Infantry, I am a retired Commandant of the Marine Corps, and a former JCS Adviser of about 20 months... give or take a month or two. Outside of the JCS-led Military, I've served for about a month with the Ultramarines militia.

Q: What exactly are your short term goals as General of the National Military?

A: My short term goals are to give the National Military strength and backbone. For the National Military to have credibility with other nations, it has to show it can do damage both consistently and in spades. If I see that it's necessary to gin up a media blitz in order to recruit the best men and women quickly, we'll do it. If that means writing articles at a fairly regular clip, something my readers aren't used to, so be it. We're going to do damage; our country is counting on it. My biggest concern is how many people will be doing that damage with me, and how fast I can get them doing it.

Q: How do you intend to gain an active and experienced Senior Officer Corps, while essentially competing with the “eUS Military” and the various militia’s?

A: The keys in building a core group of intelligent and active senior officers are trust and respect. It takes a lot more than just throwing together a few faces and hoping they do some damage, although I'm sure they could... people demand charismatic leadership and an aptitude for what they have been tasked with. When players see leaders they can trust, they want to be a part of that team. Without a doubt, Eugene Harlot is the prime example of this... he exemplified both of those traits.

He knew what he was doing when dealing with the military module he was tasked to master. He communicated with everyone he came in contact with; military or not, friends or no. He worked with everyone to varying degrees and knew how to make things happen. I don't think I could ever live up to that standard, but I've worked with a lot of people in the past and I could only hope that they'd be willing to work with me. In the end, it isn't about who's right or wrong... it's about leading this nation's fine citizen-soldiers through the mess both inside and outside of our borders.

Q: How long do you predict it will take for the National Military to become a viable force with similar size and strength as one of the eUS Military branches?

A: As one of the eUS Military branches? I'm hoping we could muster the numbers to rival a single JCS-led Military branch in a couple of weeks... maybe less. As far as being on par with the entire JCS-led military, that could take a few months. It really depends on what the players want. Do I think some players from the JCS-led Military will join us? Probably. Same can be said for other militias. The nation has effectively been without a government-sponsored military for a few days now, and that void has sent players looking for other options... but I think some players are going to want to give the National Military the opportunity to prove itself a more-than-viable alternative to the historically stronger alternatives.

Everyone has a chance at doing well with us, and it largely depends on your work ethic. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not keen on playing favorites, I want the people who are going to get things done to be tasked with the most important responsibilities. I hear getting in on the ground floor can have its benefits... but in a building I manage, the elevator only takes you as high as you can stand to be.

Q: It’s been revealed that the Training Corps will continue to serve as the hub for new players. How do you intend to utilize the Boot Camp section of the new military force to train new warriors?

A: The Training Corps will continue to serve as the hub for new players until our Boot Camp is ready to go with training preparation. A lot of people who have spent time as officers in the Training Corps have agreed to join the National Military to take leadership roles in our Boot Camp, and we are hoping to open this sector of our military soon to players both young and old looking to learn both in-game basics and, most importantly, how to fight efficiently in order to be a beneficial citizen-soldier for the eUS.

Q: What are your short term and long term goals as General of the National Military?

A: Well, my short term goals are what I said before... to give the National military strength and backbone. We have to crawl before we can walk, and we have to walk before we can run. The early weeks of this endeavor mean recruiting new people with knowledge in all aspects of this game. It means adding to our collective damage, and being able to put on a show for both our citizens, our allies, and to be able to do so on a nightly basis.

Long term goals sort of go hand-in-hand with those short-term goals. Once we've established our baseline -- a positively viewed reputation -- we will have further opportunities to benefit the country and our allies. In order to take on calls from our allies, we'll have to earn their respect and show them they can trust us to do our part in a greater plan. and to do that, we'll first have to do the little things that will solidify that reputation. Crawl before you walk, walk before you run.

Q: Why should the average citizen join this military force over the militias or the “eUS Military”?

A: I wholeheartedly believe most new players will want to join the National Military because of the benefits we can provide them and the wisdom we can provide them. It is my goal to be able to work with any players who want to benefit this nation, both young and old, weak and strong. Today's leadership only exists to perpetuate knowledge to tomorrow's leaders.

I won't play this game forever, to be frank... there are better games out there. But I believe strongly in the community playing, and a lot of us have come together to benefit our little part of the world in the best way possible. I know we can take the best aspects the JCS-led Military and other militias can provide -- community and family -- and add to our unified strength.

Thank you General Deificus for your time and for remaining professional and cordial. I look forward to seeing the force you produce and I can’t wait to see what you can do.
