My manifesto for the Movement for Democratic Unity Party President Elections:


OEXIS – Party Presidential Manifesto

I would like to formally announce my candidacy for Party President of the Movement for Democratic Unity. I have been a Party Member for well over a month, and have dedicated the vast majority of my time on eRepublik to the service of the MDU as Membership Officer. I have contributed actively to the party, helping new members, contributing debate, and proposing constitutional amendments. Outside of the Party, I am the National Health Service Director for the Wales Clinic – a position I feel privileged to hold and dedicate my time to serve the needs of my patients.

As your Party President I would do everything in my power to run this party to the same standard as my predecessors, writing articles, organising the cabinet and making announcements etc. Activity is important, and during my tenure as Party President I will not fail you through inactivity and laziness.


Organisation and Structure

I will propose some changes to the Party Structure. Firstly, I will propose the renaming of spokespersons to Directors. For example, Health and Education spokesperson will be renamed Health and Education Director. Directors will still undertake the position of speaking for the party, but are in charge of any work involving the party and their position. The Membership Director may have some people helping to message prospective MDU politicians. The Director is responsible for this work, and may only employ, without contract, volunteers from the party.

It is important that we have transparency in the party. I will make weekly reports from Directors mandatory, so that we can see progress in discussions and statistics where available.

MDU Congressman are free to publish a voting record should they wish, however it is important that they are allowed to vote privately should they wish especially with issues that may be quite sensitive.

The Party Cabinet will remain closed. This is to remove the threat of spies, which is a real threat, particularly around election time. However, when we do not feel that discussions need to be kept to the Party Cabinet any longer, they will be released to the party.


Elections

I will strongly recommend that all congressmen running for the MDU on the 25th of January have a clearly published manifesto. We want to be seen as an active and dedicated party, not a bunch of inactive sheep voters electing MPs not even on the forum.

In February, an MDU member will run for Prime Minister of the eUnited Kingdom. As a party, we must unite more than ever before – supporting our candidate. We must help write the manifesto, contribute to publicity and assist them in every aspect of our lives on eRepublik. We can succeed in this election if we act with intelligence, sensibility and persistence. Win or not, in the Presidential Election during my term will be a triumph for the Movement and will place us in a better position than before.


Members

You are the whole reason the party is here. There would be no MDU without its members, so it is vital that they are happy with their party.

I would introduce a poll, where all members can vote for anything about the party they dislike or wish to change. If a certain aspect of the party, such as the name or logo for example, receives enough votes, I will take action involving the party to change this for the better.

I will make it a duty of the Membership Director to message all MDU Members to join the forum. It is imperative that they join to become an active and involved member of the party.

I will continue the monthly award scheme introduced by Party President Tommy Tommasino, rewarding players who have actively contributed to the MDU.
