To my fellow Czechs and free citizens:
As you know, congressional elections are coming up and we still only have our one region. I've been busy these days with graduate school applications in America, so I apologize for not explaining this situation earlier. Basically, we are being occupied indefinitely, much to my chagrin, and probably yours. We will still get Congress, but America has decided to keep our other regions, presumably as a base to launch attacks against ROOT, which Slovakia is in.
You may also notice that LETO is disbanded, and this is the justification America is using to occupy us, saying they are not bound to any agreement to give our regions back. They've made it clear that they are here solely for strategic purposes. If anything, America attacking Slovakia will give Poland impetus to attack America and then make it more likely for us to be occupied, even though America says they are trying to prevent this.
Let me be clear, I am very unhappy with this occupation, but for a small country like us, things are out of our hands for now. I will see if I can talk with Asteria to lend us support, since they are still friendly towards us. Given the upcoming months though, I may wish to step down and have someone else take my place. We shall see.

In other news, there will be a new dictatorship mechanic. If you can hold on for 30 days as dictator after spending 200,000 CC as leader of an MU to go overthrow the president, you can get 50 gold. Or something. I feel like our country is too boring to have some revolution happen, but you never know.
Our vice president Fahrenheit is stepping down to do that crazy thing we call real life. Swell. I'll be figuring a replacement soon. If you are interested in serving in the government, you can PM me as well. You may not get the vice president position, but you might help with some other affairs.
Things will hopefully be okay. Don't worry too much.

I am unhappy with occupation too. We will do a lot to resist and get our regions back!
"Dictatorship" is dangerous update. Congress must confirm citizenships with bigger care.

There was/is a specific bilateral agreement between eUS and eCR, isn't there?
It was promise to us. We havent agreed with attack at first place but were fine with promise that we will get land and money back. We hadnt much reason to not trust it because we realy got region and money back, then it gone wrong.

Some points to ponder:
1. I said this would happen prior to giving up our territories.
2. This lack of honoring a treaty is not unique to this game.
There used to be about 300 nations in area of usa, with 300 languages.
Despite treaties with the Indians, usa government ordered usa soldiers to attack villages from one side to draw out indian warriors, then attack from the other side to kill all the women and children. Survivors were put in concentration camps for 120 years, with insufficient food but plenty of alcohol, germ infested blankets to kill the children, and shot anyone leaving (see wikipedia "wounded knee"). They called this "Manifest Destiny" (literally meaning that they did not have to justify their actions, because it was obvious that God had decided it.)
It is a pity that children of usa have not yet proven more honorable than their ancestors, but we can hope . . .
3. It was with heavy heart that I learned that Czech joined NATO 1997, and sent soldiers to die for usa wars. Of the three major politicians, only Josef Lux did not agree (he then died in usa). What Russia does openly, usa does secretly. This is a tendency of most large empires, as when Julius Caesar attacked the ALLIES of Rome, so he could plunder them. (Senate impeached him for war crimes, so he came into the Senate with his army, an effective tactic because it was illegal to have any soldiers in the capital, so he was unopposed.)
4. In light of the above, we should not be surprised that Eusa did not honor their word.
5. On the other hand, being in usa has some benefits, and they did let us keep one region, so we are better off than the 173 nations who cannot keep any land, because usa government officially decided there is not a single living survivor to benefit from the usa treaty. ouch.
6. If the Czech Republic wants to be independent, it needs to be like real life Switzerland.
7. But it might be too late.
