Observer membership in Sol? Why not?

Day 725, 00:39 Published in Austria USA by stancel

Since we have an MPP with Malaysia, and we are included in the Sol wargames, should Austria join as an observer member of Sol?

"Sol is a regional alliance for the Asia-Pacific region. It is currently composed of seven official members. Sol's objective is to integrate the Asia-Pacific countries to bring peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region and ensuring the security of member nations by forging a closer relations between the governments and the populations of the each member nations.

Sol is based on the real life United Nations; it is based in the Asia-Pacific region, but the inclusion of South Africa into the alliance on 10 September 2009 indicates a willingness to take members from other continents.

Member nations of Sol are nations with a vote on the Sol Security Council which of course means they are members of Sol. However, there are also observer nations which are granted one envoy to participate in Resolution discussions but are barred from voting. These serve a similar role to ambassadors but in a more open environment.

Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, and Singapore were the founding members of the alliance.

South Africa, an observer nation at first, was admitted to the Alliance on the 10th of September, 2009. Japan left the alliance on the 15th of October, 2009.

After its decision to break away with the merged country known as Federal Republic of South East Asia, Thailand joined Sol in November 2, 2009.
