Nys takes close win in Plzen

Sven Nys has won the first race of the UCI world cup. He won in a sprint with Kevin Pauwels and home rider Zdenek Stybar.

Albert his chances were ruined at the start. A cameraman from Czech television stood in the way of Albert and Mourey, and after that they were held back by two falls in the two corners.

It was a fast-paced cyclo-cross; Nys, Chainel and Stybar rode each one lap on front of the race. After several attacks, Stybar made his move and only Pauwels could follow. Nys wasn't immediatly with them, but on his own he managed to close the gap. In a crazy final lap, Nys just could pass Stybar before the short final straight. Nys took the win, Pauwels just came in in front of Stybar. Albert finally finished 8th.
