NWG4CP Money Matters !

So this will most likely be one of my shortest articles in the run up, But maybe one of the most important.

And as my title says money does matter. Over the last few months there have been debates about what we should do with our cash. Some say we should SAVE SAVE SAVE for a rainy day while others say SPEND SPEND SPEND and make the most of it.

Here today I want to confuse you and say that I agree with both sides of the fence and fully intend to do both and I will explain why and how in this article.



First off we need to have money held back, Wars are not cheap and be it; us starting a war or someone declaring on us, We need to have that money in reserve and ready. Its not been unknown for a single battle to cost us as a nation nearly 200k in CO's alone. Now I will admit. This is a bit extreme but when it comes down to it We need that WAR CHEST. As a country we can not live or function being at war 24/7. We simply don't earn enough or have enough.

I am a true believer however that you need to spend money to make money. I also asked myself why is it people seem to make the most money during a war and yet a Government loses the most?

The answer is simple. We as a nation need to stop thinking like a nation and more like players. Players make money during war simply by buying stock at low prices and selling at high prices. Its a very simple but effective way of doing things.

SO WHY DOESN'T GOVERNMENT DO THIS TOO ?

Should I win the election the first thing I will look to do is speak to congress and my cabinet about releasing a budget to certain departments. Under the scrutiny of the Minister Of Finance, Myself and Vice Country Presidents the idear is to use that budget when the market is good to invest in weapons and food and to make that department a profit.

For example MOD could look to purchase and sell Tanks with their budget. Any profits made will be placed into the Defence Org or returned to the Minister Of Finance. And these profits could be used by the Department to fund future CO's or Call to Arms or possibly even used to supply for important battles. At the end of the term the Original Budget allocated will be given back in full into the country accounts.

At the moment for obvious reasons due to what has happened before our involvement in the Money Market has been pretty poor. Now I'm not blaming anyone but again its a way to make the country more money that although is slowly being used again should I think be looked at again in more detail to expanding this involvement.

As well as renting out some National Orgs, if they're sitting there and not being used then why should we not find a way to make money from them. A possible example is of course renting them to friendly nations. This idear was mentioned to me when speaking to the current Minister of Finance . We will still own these Orgs, we will still have the ability to get them back from the Admins if needs must. But the Fees and profits we get from this action could fund our ourselves, playing the markets as a nation or even go towards our own costs for MPP's.



You will of course notice so far I have missed off taxes. And for good reason. I have hopefully shown above that with just a few ideas how we can look to fund the nation by spending and making our own money to run the nation. And yet Taxes have not been mentioned once.

The ideas mentioned looks into funding and investing in War. And due to war we can look to profit from Prices in order to make sure we can keep punching at our full weight on the battlefield. There are ideas to make money again from the Money market and Orgs separately and together to fund our MPP's.

This leaves taxes and this is where I will look to have us save for the rainy day. With most of the major expenses looking to be covered, my aim would be to have our taxes as our saving plan for the future.

And who knows if it's proven that money gained from tax is indeed a surplus income that is not needed to fund anything. Then there can be another serious debate by congress on taxation... can they be lowered to attract more interest from abroad ? Do we keep them the same or higher them to expand our bank balance back to what it once was ?

These are all questions that the Minister Of Finance and Congress can debate on for hours! And it's a debate of luxury if we can achieve it!

And finally something some people may not know about but should. I won't mention names but our country does have debts too. Just in real life this nation owes money to some players. Some still play and others currently don't. My plan is to approach the Minister Of Finance and Congress to look into having a Payment plan based on the % of profits made to go towards the repayment of this debt to active players on a month by month basis.

This however will only happen if a profit is made. I won't be making the country worse off than it is already. It simply does not make sense to make a debt to repay another. On the other side of the coin it's been mentioned before and talked in congress long time ago about how some seemed to think the country was owed money from players. From when investments were made onto personally accounts to help the National Military.

Now I don't know the outcome of this. But while we are repaying debts. I will also look to chase down and reclaim the country's own missing money if this is possible from past investments or long over due loans.

I and my cabinet will Continue to brain storm on how to make more money. Look into how currently players manage to achieve this and if a nation can indeed follow the same formulas.

Its time we start looking out side of the Box. If people can make money then why can't a nation doing the same thing. If other countries can make money doing something then why cant we ??
