Now THIS is a ball game.

Day 902, 19:30 Published in Australia Australia by infin

I have decided that after 4 terms as Party President for the Australian National Party it is time to stand back and let someone else have a turn at leading our magnificent party. Politics is without a doubt the most enjoyable aspect of eRep for me, I enjoy the challenge of ideas, and the challenge of communicating in a straight forward way to all people.

As for the candidates to this election we have 1 PTOer, 1 blow-in Will O'Grady, and 2 genuine candidates, dante623 and discrate1. Will O'Grady, an unknown in the ANP comunity, has decided to introduce himself to the rank and file via baptism of fire. That's a novel strategy and I hope that works for him.

Dante623 is a newer member of the party but has proven himself active and interested. He is also active politically and secured a senate seat with the ANP at the last election. I am sure he would work hard for the Party and be a good leader if elected.

Discrate1 is the candidate I will be voting for. He is a straight talking patriot - I like the cut of his jib. Discrate1 has worked and donated to the party now for many months. He is a two time ANP senator and knows our policies inside and out. He helped create them. Discrate1 is highly active on the ausrep forums and in IRC #ANP. I know Discrate1 will be a strong guardian and leader for our party and I urge you to vote for him too.

I would like to thank the ANP members for allowing me to serve over the last 4 terms. We have had some amazing achievements over this time, electing numerous senators and contesting Prime Minister elections. sir_c0nstant was also priveleged enough to serve as Prime Minister for a brief period of time. I remain of the view that sir_c0nstant will make an excellent Prime Minister in the future. He is my close friend and I could not have delivered for the Party without his stability and guidance. I also thank the senior members of our party, venja, savonrepus, Adam Von Templar, Corey Blake and Darth Spader for their long time loyalty to the party and their assistance during my time as PP.

Finally I just want to assure all of Australia that I am not going anywhere. I love Australian politics and I love to serve my country. The workload as Minister of Industry is substantial and I want to direct my efforts to that position. I will always be here to serve the ANP and will help out the party whenever it is in need.

As to the Party President elections, NOW WE HAVE A BALL GAME!!

Kind Regards
infin

Addendum: I would also like to thank Xavier Griffith. We think alike on most things and both have a healthy respect for the brute force of the ballot box, and a rule of law. He has helped me learn most of what I know today about eAus' political processes, and is an outstanding Prime Minister.
