Notice from the Minister of Defence
Irish Department of Defence
Dear Soldiers and Citizens,
I am in the middle of writing a more detailed introduction to myself and my plans as Minister of Defence, but world affairs insist that I make a brief statement concerning certain events.
Hungary and the United Kingdom have gone to war.
Not really.
I spent hours last night figuring this one out, after being prompted by the American MoD equivalent to observe that Sweden had invaded a Hungarian territory originally in Danish hands, Nordjylland. Having been in contact with a large number of people, including my opposite numbers in the USA, the UK, and certain big swinging mickies in PEACE GC command I believe there is no threat to Ireland.
Hungary and the UK have drawn up plans for Scotland to change hands in order to give the UK continuous wargames on their own terms, freeing them from our set in Rhode Island. These wars will last one month. Scotland does not border any Irish territories, so even if Hungary were planning to work their way across the Atlantic to attack the US they would not have to bother with us.
I congratulate certain COs of the IDF for noticing this circumstance and voicing their legitimate concerns to me immediately. Luckily, I had already got my trousers on, so no harm done there! Keep up the good work!
Hungary and the UK are close friends who have been on opposite sides of alliance strife for a very long time, their friendship, and these wargames should not be interpreted as a threat to Ireland in any form.
Much Love
Aran Tal
Minister of Defence

Thanks for informing us!
-The United Kingdom is not responsible for anything Hungary does while in possession of Scotland. While in control of Hungary, it is considered a Hungarian region, and any questions, comments, or concerns with Scotland must be taken up with the Government of Hungary
That is an extract from the official contract between the UK and hungary.
Tell me its ok.
Hungary can attack Canada and NI from where they are situated in scotland.
For them to attack the USA, they need to get into ireland.

That is a link to the contract
That's worrying Bryan.
Hmm this could work to our advantage
How Niall?
That's true Bryan, and its a cause for close monitoring, but I do not believe that will happen.
If Hungary wanted US territory it makes much more sense to either go through Wales, which borders Maine and New York, and save themselves the cost and hassle of declaring war on us.
They would have to take NI and the Shannon to get to the US as well as Scotland, as opposed to Scotland, the Northwest (UK) and Wales which is infinitely more cost effective.
As i have been ranting and raving on this all day, mostly to a number of brick walls, I'd like to thank Bryan for following my request to obtain the offical wording.
read it carefully
its rather important
then do exactly what the DoD tells you to.
thats even more important.
I like the style of this bit the best...
-This contract will, in no way shape or form, require the United Kingdom to show allegience to any country other than Hungary.
I've personally found that its often helpful to subscribe to official foreign newspapers - the eUK MoD News, and Home Office publications for example. Often word reaches you through the morning's paper faster than it does by mouth...even if you're the President himself!
Theres no need to worry we are not a target of PEACE.
@all readers -
AT* will handle this completely, people, he is the top-ranking military leader in this land. He needs your full support, not a public enquiry. Whether you worry or not, that's a personal choice.
I have seen this type of foreign deal all before. Believe me. Hint:
Citizens, get reading and writing and debating, we need to be wide awake.
Soldiers, report to your barracks and follow your orders to the letter. Not everything will be in public domain.
Are we at war? No.
But we now have a new neighbour.
Their ambitions are different than our own.
Two big deals now lads, are diplomacy and defence.
For once, we need the "suits" AND the "boots" at the same time.
Be ready, Ireland. Everyone else is.
*salutes Colonel AT*
Reporting for duty on the War Council, Sir, as per President Starks. I am at your service. An honour to serve you in these difficult times.
Colonel Ni Mhaille.
Tayto is not as informed as a lot of yee good folk.....but to me the enemy have come ONE STEP TOO CLOSE *Tayto Thinks* and the only thing this enemy respects is STRENGTH..NOT...NEATURALITY..Now, while yeeee talk, TAYTO going shopping for Q4 wepons.......perhaps a bit of stronger LEADERSHIP is required.
Tayto, PEACE have never made an action of aggression against us, ATLANTIS however, have. (See: Romanian occupation of Ireland). So Hungary is in no way our enemies.
Hello Manni, appreciate your insight..and perhaps the word ENEMY was too strong.....but I also do not believe they have a package holiday in mind. So I shall still stick to my GUNS and PREACH the word "STRENGTH" as their promotional material is not what you call E-Ireland Friendly.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cdl2tDzPtvs" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cdl2tDzPt[..]zPtvs
So, which brings us to the question... Do Hungary want to attack USA? I should hope not, or we'll all be slaughtered lambs... We'll find out soon enough... and until we do, we should mobilize...
Endangered Species, report to your barracks please, and check in with your C.O.
