NORWAY - THE FAIRYTALES STARTED HERE (PART I)

Hello again my dear readers,

TODAY's ARTICLE IS ABOUT A MONUMENTAL COUNTRY, A FABULOUS STORY ABOUT ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNTRIES IN THE WHOLE WORLD - NORWAY.




Situated in the western part of the Scandinavian peninsula, Norway extends on 1800 km from the North Sea along the Norwegian Sea to more than 500km above the Arctic Circle, the farthest north of any European country. More than 60% of Norway is inhabitable, because are covered by mountains, glaciers, moors, and rivers. Norway has hundreds of fjords that cut into its coastline, many of them very deep and extremely beautiful.


First inhabitants of Norway we know more about brought with them the glory of an ancient origin. They were called Vikings and were of Teutonic origin. Just like in eRepublik a lot later, Vikings conquered almost everything in their path between 8th and 11th century becoming one of the most fearful nations in early "civilized" Europe. During that period, Norwegians, as well as Swedes and Danes, traveled abroad on longships, as raiders, explorers, settlers and traders. They weren't the first settlers there because archaeological findings related about Norway as being populated since 10000 earlier. The Norwegian kingdom was firmly established in 11th century.
300 years later, have found Norwegian kingdom under Danish occupation.




Few hundred years later, in the Napoleonic war, Norway was ceded by Denmark to Sweden. Sweden allowed Norway to have its own constitution and gave it the possibility to recover under its flag. Maybe you are still remembering the wheel used in eRepublik against eRussia, but in here eFinland was in the place of eDenmark.
In the WW I and WWII, Norway have declared is neutrality but was occupied in the WWII by germans.

Anyway, right now eNorway is one of the most developed country in the world and that is because its fabulous people and their attitude regarding humanity and nature. They are proud, honest and hardworking people. Most of them are friendly and you can probe this in eRepublik.

Norwegians are the keepers of our arctic heritage and are doing this with great care and responsibility.
