First Interview, John Gormley:

Loyen Hello!
John: Hello loyen.

L: How long do you play erepublik?
J: About 2 and a half years. It's fairly long but I always thought if 5n4keyes can keep going so can I.

L: Why did you start playing it at the first time?
J: I saw an ad in a sports management game and it looked pretty attractive so I joined. I told my brother about eRepublik a day or 2 later, and was shocked to hear he had joined a couple of weeks earlier. I was a little annoyed he hadn't told me. 🙂

L: What do you like most about erepublik?
J: It's a clichéd thing to say at this stage but it has to be the community. Also, though I often moan about it, the gameplay is pretty good in fairness.

L: You consider yourself more like a politician, soldier, business owner, journalist, etc?
J: Well, I think I've always put my efforts mostly into politics, so I'd have to say politician. I try to be a "jack of all trades" though. I think this game is played best when you try to get the best out of every aspect of the game.

L: What are your main current job?:
J: I presume you mean in-game rather than RL? I'm not doing much atm to be honest. About all I'm doing is playing my part in the Libertad-IRE military unit. Our little unit has been a great success so far.

L: Any plans for the future?
J: No, not really. A major flaw of mine is my dislike for planning too far ahead. 🙂
I suppose I just hope to be still playing in 6 months or a year's time. And enjoying it - that's the most important thing.

L: How does it feel being a congressman?
J: It feels great. Being a Congressman is a big privelege. Sadly, it's probably true that the President has nearly all the power and that does adversely affect a Congressman's role. But there's still a good bit done at Congress level and I am delighted to be a part of it.

L: What laws did you propose.
J: Tbh, none so far this term. I still have 2 proposals left. None proposed in the offsite either.

L: Why?
J: I dunno. I suppose a combination of laziness, apathy and having other stuff to do. They don't excuse it but I'm just trying to explain.

L: Any comments?
J: Thanks for interviewing me.

Next interview, Francois L pignon!
