No NAP - BAM! we get punched in the stomach...

Day 2,022, 09:42 Published in Serbia Thailand by WIN ALL IN

As MoFA of Tajlanda, I'd like to inform all of our friends & trusted allies, Chile, Hungary, Indonesia, Japan, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia & Spain, of the latest diplomatic developments regarding Tajlanda.

I had hoped that this article would be about the successful negotiation of a NAP between Malaysia & Thailand, with the assistance of Pakistan, the tentative first steps of which, were published by the CP of Malaysia, mhifzan, in his article published just 2 short days ago. [NaN] Proposal eMalaysia-eThailand Non Aggression Pact by ePK

This promising event in SEA relations, had the potential to lead to many interesting & fun projects, with additional teams in the future & therefore, the Thai negotiation members involved, were supported by the whole Thai team.

Unfortunately, I find it necessary to advise, that due to actions totally beyond Thailand's or Pakistan's control, these NAP negotiations have ended prematurely, as a result of an unprovoked act of aggression by Malaysia, briefly described by Thailand's Ministry of Defence this morning. MALAYSIAN BETRAYAL

Timeline of Events

With the first RW rumblings, well over 8 hours ago, no action was taken by Thailand. The 3 players involved were ID?, Khairunnaim Khairuddin & Khairul Afif.

Still over 8 hours ago, no action was taken by Thailand. The 2 new supporters are ID? & infinityReborn.

Taking no action at this point was a risky decision, made by Thailand's governing team, given that infinityReborn is a veteran player with a political background, well known & very much respected in the Malaysian community.

It was an incredible show of patience & reserve by the Thai team, especially since just 2 days earlier, in response to his own CP's article previously mentioned, infinityReborn said that he supported the NAP.

But now here he was, clearly turning his back on it & by his high profile example, influencing others to do the same.

Still Thai watched & waited. But there were no requests for the RW to end in the Malaysian media, no shouts from their players in the feeds.

Instead a 6th. Malaysian supporter was added, SoharaSama, quickly followed by 2 more players.

Increasingly, it was becoming obvious that this RW was going to begin, tentative NAP or not. More worrisome was the fact, that these weren't “third party” players. The majority of the RW supporters were Malaysian players, whose actions were effectively ending the NAP negotiations, with seemingly no objections by anyone on the Malay team.

As an indication of good faith, to illustrate the restraint shown during the early stages, this screen shot is taken from team Thai's internal, Congressional circular messages.

Even with Google's translation, the President's order is clear. After 3 to 4 YES votes, Congress is to hold their votes until further notice. It's understood by all, that this action gave the Malay team an opportunity to react, to advise the Thai team of what was happening, if in fact, there was a problem.

However, confirmation of Malaysia's decision to end the NAP came with the addition of the 9th. RW supporter.

Leo Syahmessi is well known by players on many teams & is one of my longtime friends, not only in this eLife, but in previous eLives. He is knowledgeable about the game & has always been one of Malaysia's most active players.

If anyone on the Thai team still had any doubts, now they were completely dispelled. It was inevitable, that with Leo's decision, the final supporter was quickly added, beginning the RW.

Normally, there are anywhere from 25 to 33 or more votes on any proposal. In this case, despite the fact that there was no choice but to approve the NE, I think that the low number of votes is a very clear indication, that the Thai team was disappointed with the failure of the NAP. There was no plan or ulterior motive to NE Malaysia.

There is additional information that wasn't widely known, because negotiations hadn't been finalized. Namely, because it was recognized, that it would be difficult for the Malaysian team to make the 20,000 cc deposit, Pakistan had asked for a waiver of this requirement & Thailand had granted that waiver.

As stated by TheJakal, instead of a reliance on money, the final draft of the NAP would have relied on "the goodwill of ePakistan", to safeguard the agreement.

Often I have the impression that this game barely has any life left in it. Then something will happen that gives me a sense of hope, that behind the scenes players are working on projects, to add some excitement to it.

Then just when I get my hopes up, BAM! we get punched in the stomach...

Speaking as a private citizen now, not Tajlanda's MoFA, the next team that punches me in the stomach is going to face my unholy wrath & it's not going to be pretty!!

EDIT

An oversight on my part, this should have been said with the publication of this article. On behalf of the Thailand team, thank you to the Pakistan team, for their willingness to mediate & for their time & energy, during the NAP negotiating process.

Just to clarify, I know that I said, “it's not going to be pretty”, but I also said wrath, not wraith. 😠

Also, it's not wise to cross the President.

Still Sincerely,
Mystela, Tajlanda MoFA
