Some of you are already aware, some not. On February 12th, I succeeded Alexander Rearden for the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. I personally want to thank Alexander for his excellent work at the head of the Court. It was fun to work with him.
Soon after, Rylde resigned his position as judge of the Court. Whatever one may think of Rylde, it was an excellent Justice, very active. So it's major loss that the Court has suffered with the resignation of these two judges.
The Supreme Court needs new Justices
I feel a little lonely at the Court. I am still waiting a response from a judge who gives no sign of life. It is quite possible that if a decision must be made, it is difficult for the Court to have a quorum.
There is currently two positions vacant. So if you're interested in becoming a Justice of the Supreme Court, I am now collecting applications. Just send me a message or say your interest in the comments. All applications will be sent to the President, Kronos Q. I leave him full discretion in choosing the new Justice according to his preferences. Don't forget that you can't be congressman, cabinet member, party president or country president while you are Justice. If this event occurs while you are Justice, you will have to choose between the two offices.
And now, justice in eCanada
There is currently a controversy in eCanada. Some might interpret the forgiveness of Rolo, as a failure of the Supreme Court, a failure of our justice system, then one or decay of our "ethics" in eCanada.
I do not agree.
The game has changed. It is no longer the same as in the v1. The game is much more individualistic. Orgs no longer exist. Overproduction and the ability to sustain yourself financially have allow players to build an economic empire that can compete with the State resources. The great imbalance between the old and new players makes. It's now much easier for new players to be influence, purchased by those players, at a relatively low cost.
And then, the military module has overtake the political module. I think a new player is much more interested in the military module than the political module when they play eRepublik. So now, the eCanada forums is not essential for having fun playing this game as before.
All that to say that the bans of forum have lost since the V1 much of their effectiveness. By themselves, they can’t raise the level of our ethics. This is not just by occasionally attacking some individuals, in edifying example, a kind of martyr that we will solve this problem. In my opinion, this is even counterproductive.
Olivermellors proposed a solution that has great merit, I invite you to take a look:

This is why a judicial reform is necessary in my opinion. I already made a change in the procedure of the Court recently. Nevertheless, here are the principles I would like to establish in our justice system after the reform:
1. Participatory justice
2. A simplified and more effective justice.
3. More cases and lesser sentences.
4. Public Shaming
I would give more details on this reform in a future article.
Congress election
Three persons currently serve a sentences and cannot fulfill their tasks as congressman this month. It is better not to vote for them.
Muglack in North East of England with Norsefire - Rolo Chapter. Muglack is banned until March 3rd and can not have a congress mask until April 3rd. Muglack published informations from the Closed Dooor Congress twice, endangering the safety of eCanada. Details here
EZstreet in West Midlands with EPIC is banned from the forum until March 14th. He abused his powers as Minister by illegally collecting golds as what he called "administrative costs". Details here
Rolo Tahmasee with Norsefire Nunavut - Rolo Chapter. He stoles several thousand gold to eCanada in September 2010. Since then, he is permanently banned. Details here
Finally, do not vote for me in Quebec under the Norsefire - Rolo Chapter. I'm a blocker. It is a mistake on my part.
