Join the new world

If you are a new player to the game, first of all welcome to eRepublik and welcome to the eUS! The focus of these articles is to give you access to both information and resources that can help make your first few weeks in the game easier and more enjoyable.

The first thing you should know is that the United States has an official message board outside of the game. On this you will find a section called "Welcoming Committee" where you can ask any questions that you have and get help if you should need it. This is also where a large portion of our community meets to discuss current events in the game, game mechanics, and just talk in general. Another important place you can check for information is the eRepublik Wikipedia site. You can find this here: eRepublik Wikipedia. On that site, you will find a large part of the information you will need to learn how to play the game. A few key articles from the Wikipedia are:

These will teach you the basics of the game and help you to get off on the right foot.

You should also know that the eUS government has programs that can help you should you need it.

This edition's educational focus is on Joining a Political Party

Once you reach level 7, you will have the ability to join a political party.

Mechanics:
The actual mechanics of joining a political party couldn't be easier. To join a party simply go to:
"My Places" -> "Party" -> "Join a Party"
Here you can look through the party's. Once you have found one that suits your tastes, you can click on it, and then simply click "Join Party". Alternately you can follow the link to one of the party's listed below and click "Join Party" if one of them is of interest to you.

Why Join a Party:
A huge portion of eRepublik is the social aspects of the game. By joining a political party, you are putting yourself in contact with even more players. This will allow you to have a better handle of what is going on in the world, better learn how to play the game, and of course make a bunch of friends and contacts along the way. In addition to this, you may one day want to run for Congress. Getting known in your party is a key part of preparing to run for office as most party's will require that they clear your platform prior to running. Also, there may be some party positions that you can apply for to help get involved and get your name out there.

United States Workers Party:

Now, we don't stick to that 100% (mostly in terms of Foreign Policy) but that gives you the gist of things. Furthermore, we are one of the more active parties, with a very strong history. We pride ourselves in our ability to elect some of the finest congressmen and attract some of the most dedicated players in the game.

The Libertarian Party, Home of the Sexy Libs! All joking aside the LP views itself as a large family. Though we are diverse and opinions on any given topic can vary greatly; our desire to be a positive influence on the eUS is held by all. We believe there is serious business to had, such as social programs, recruiting, and training of new citizens. We try however to keep in touch with our "lighter sides" by also looking to the fun of a social community to boost citizen retention, all elements of a stronger and prosperous nation.

We pride ourselves in being government watchdogs and will voice our opinions when these issues have been infringed upon.
