New Players Look Here [Focus: eUS Military]

Day 825, 11:56 Published in USA USA by USA Department of the Interior

If you are a new player to the game, first of all welcome to eRepublik and welcome to the eUS! The focus of these articles is to give you access to both information and resources that can help make your first few weeks in the game easier and more enjoyable.

The first thing you should know is that the United States has an official message board outside of the game. On this you will find a section called "Welcoming Committee" where you can ask any questions that you have and get help if you should need it. This is also where a large portion of our community meets to discuss current events in the game, game mechanics, and just talk in general. You can these forums by clicking this link: The official United States Forum for eRepublik.

Another important place you can check for information is the eRepublik Wikipedia site. You can find this here: eRepublik Wikipedia. On that site, you will find a large part of the information you will need to learn how to play the game. A few key articles from the Wikipedia are:
Experience and Features
Work
Food
Train
Fight

You can also check out the eRepublik Infohub located at Infohub

These will teach you the basics of the game and help you to get off on the right foot.

You should also know that the eUS government has programs that can help you should you need it.

The Meals on Wheels program that can help you get started by giving you FREE food. To sign up for this program visit here: Meals on Wheels
The eUS Mentor Program can help you by pairing you with a Mentor who can help you learn the game and answer any questions that you have. To sign up for a mentor visit: Mentor Program
If you're looking for a hand while on the eRepublik website, check out the In game chat. While in there, look for the Flying Unicorn Squadron, they can help if you need it.

This edition's educational focus is on the eUS Military.

Once you reach level 5 you gain the ability to fight in battles. There are many good articles on how to fight out there, such as This article. Another key part of fighting is not just that you fight, but that you fight in the right spot. Before you fight each day you should look at This newspaper. This is the Department of Defense Citizen Orders that all non-military members should follow each day.

The US and it's allies (known as the alliance EDEN) are currently at war with the alliance Phoenix. At the front line of this fight each day is the US Military. The Military is a great source of meeting new people, learning to fight, and most importantly keeping our country safe.

Below you will find a brief description of each branch in our Military. If you are interested in joining, please make sure that you go over the requirements of the branch carefully and ensure that you meet them prior to applying. If you are a new player, you would start in the Training Corps.

These are the official descriptions given by the eUS Military, all credit goes to them for writing these.

Branches:

Training Corps:

In order to be considered for Training Corps, you have to meet the following requirements:

Strength: Any
Rank: No Minimum
Activity: Moderate. You will need to check eRep to work and train daily to get your wellness up. You will also engage in 3 weeks of training, which includes reading doc's that your platoon leader sends you. You should also use the forum and IRC to interact with recruits and meet people in game.

Description: Training Corps is a branch of the eUS Armed Forces dedicated to building the defense system of eAmerica. We take the raw, fresh recruits and turn them into the Marines of tomorrow. This is the place where the new recruits make friends in game and also learn about the military of the eUnited States. During your stay in the Training Corps, you will go through 3 weeks of boot camp, learning the in's and out's of the game.

Training Corps Application

Joining TC is a commitment... please don't apply unless you're willing to make that commitment. If you believe you're ready, complete this form and look to be contacted by a Recruitment Officer or Platoon Leader shortly.

National Guar😛

What Is the National Guard?
The National Guard is the last line of defense. Our job is to protect our homeland from enemy invaders. To do so we remain vigilant from within our country, that is we do not generally deploy out of country.

The National Guard is a full military branch, separate from the Training Division (TD), although new Trainees are often placed in the National Guard en route to their destination in other branches or as their final destination. We offer a place to grow as a soldier, however the baseline knowledge gained through the TD is an absolute prerequisite for being able to do so.

How Do I Join?
Entrance to the National Guard is similar to other branches. A soldier must complete training in the Training Corps or be requesting a transfer to the National Guard from one of the other branches. We do not accept soldiers who have not been in service (Training Corps or Other) before.

National Guard Application
The following link is the application. If you are interested in joining the National Guard please fill it out. You will be added to a database and a recruiter will respond when the openings are available. Thank you for your interest in the National Guard.

How Active do I Need to Be?
Many of our soldiers participate on a level slightly above two clicks a day (in the parlance of eRepublik, they're two-clickers). The main commitments to activity and readiness are to reply to weekly Roll Calls from commanding officers and to check the military forums at least once a day. Failure to respond to Roll Call two weeks in a row will result in a dishonorable discharge.

Can I move Out of Country?
Yes, but be brief about it, and be prepared to be called back if your services are required. Inform your CO that you are leaving and also be sure to indicate your reason for moving as well as your expected return date. Soldiers who stay out of country without telling a Commanding Officer run the risk of being dishonorably discharged.

Policy on External Conflicts
Every so-often a conflict or war game will arise between two countries that does not in any form involve the United States. In such cases, you are allowed to participate under the following stipulations:
1.) You must inform your CO that you are fighting in another war.
2.) You must fight only at your last login of the day. This is in case your services are required for the eUnited States.
3.) You must not fight on the side of PEACE.

This is a very strict policy. Failure to comply will result in immediate dishonorable discharge. This is your warning.

Leaves of Absence
Life is life, so stuff happens, and we recognize that. People go on vacation or just can't be active. If you need to request a leave of absence (LOA) you may do so by informing your CO. Be forewarned, though, that going away without informing us as to when you are returning (if you know approximately that date) could result in a discharge.

How To Become An Officer
The HG cannot function without the dedication of our officers, and there's always a need for more candidates. If you are interested, contact your Platoon Leader. When an opening occurs that your stats fit, you will be contacted with more details and an offer to lead your own platoon.

How To Leave the NG
Sadly it sometimes becomes necessary to leave us. If you transfer, we'll know about it and help you get to where you need to be. If you need to leave for another reason, then contact your CO. Your CO will contact the Division CO and you will be granted an honorable discharge.

As an act of courtesy to our time, we ask that if you plan to leave the game (let your character die and quit eRepublik) that you please contact your CO before doing so. We can thus remove you from our rosters and prevent the need to spend extra time each week attempting to communicate with somebody who isn't there.

Mobile Infantry:
In order to be considered for MI, you have to meet the following requirements:

Strength: 7+
Rank: No Minimum
Activity: Moderate. You will need to check eRep and this forum for orders daily and be able/willing to deploy on command. IRC is not required, but is encouraged.

Description: Mobile Infantry is a branch of the eUS Armed Forces dedicated to the defense of eAmerican interests at home and abroad. We deploy regularly, so we only accept soldiers who are able and willing to break business and party ties for days at a time. We look for active, dedicated soldiers who are willing to fight for their country and follow orders quickly and without question. Ability to register for and check our military forums regularly is a must.

Army:
Strength: 9 minimum
Rank: Captain, exceptions maybe granted on a case by case basis
Activity: Must be very active, be able to check for orders 2 to 3 times per day on this forum, being on IRC is preferred but not a deal breaker.

Army Application

Airborne:
In order to be considered for selection in to the Airborne, you must possess the following skills and requirements:

Strength: 11+
Rank: Captain+ - (this may be raised depending on the number of applicants) Exceptions may be granted on a case by case basis
eRep Age: 6 months minimum

Activity: Must be very active, be able to check for orders 3 to 4 times per day on this forum, being on IRC is also MANDATORY

Description: The basic premise of the Airborne is that they can arrive with such speed that a coherent defense cannot be mounted against them for some time. Airborne forces are military units set up to be moved by aircraft and 'dropped' into battle. Thus they can be placed behind enemy lines, and have an ability to deploy almost anywhere with little warning.

THE AIRBORNE CREED

I am an Airborne trooper! A PARATROOPER! I jump by parachute from any plane in flight. I volunteered to do it, knowing well the hazards of my choice. I serve in a mighty Airborne Force--famed for deeds in war--renowned for readiness in peace. It is my pledge to uphold its honor and prestige in all I am--in all I do. I am an elite trooper--a sky trooper--a shock trooper--a spearhead trooper. I blaze the way to far-flung goals--behind, before, above the foe's front line. I know that I may have to fight without support for days on end. Therefore, I keep mind and body always fit to do my part in any Airborne task. I am self-reliant and unafraid. I shoot true, and march fast and far. I fight hard and excel in every art and artifice of war. I never fail a fellow trooper. I cherish as a sacred trust the lives of men with whom I serve. Leaders have my fullest loyalty, and those I lead never find me lacking. I have pride in the Airborne! I never let it down!

Airborne Application

Marines:
In order to join the holy ranks of the eUSMC, you have to meet the following requirements:

Strength: 20+
Rank: Field Marshal
Activity: Very High. This is no place for 2-clickers. You need to check eRep and this forum for orders several times a day and you need to be flexible and able to deploy on short notice. Furthermore IRC activity is highly encouraged.

Description: In a nutshell - we are eMerica's finest.
The Marines are a brotherhood of the most strong and dedicated soldiers the eUS and the eWorld has to offer. We are the first and most frequent to deploy, we get the best weapons and we take those brick walls down in no-time.
Our enemies fear us and our allies love us.

The few, the proud, the Marines. Just meeting the requirements doesn't make you a Marine. You have to be born as a Marine in order to become one 😉

If you meet the above requirements and think you are made of what it takes to be a Marine, please use USMC Application to apply and pray to Dio that you will be granted admission to this society of bloodthirsty warmongers - it will be the best thing that ever happened to you in your whole eLife.

Semper Fi!
