New Era - A heartfelt thank you

Today the congress election results for January have been announced, you went to the polls yesterday to express your democratic right to decide the make up of your eUK Congress. For two of the past three months New Era have been elected the second largest party in congress, we do not take this for granted and acknowledge that this has also been down to our close friendship with PCP and their members. New players may not be aware that PCP have sadly dropped from the top five of the eUK's rankings so are unable to field their own candidates in the Congress elections. New Era were proud to offer PCP a platform by fielding their candidates under our banner for the election, thus allowing us more access to the votes from PCP members and allowing their chosen candidates a chance to represent their party in Congress again. It is a regular occurrence with other parties in eRepublik and encourages closer co-operation within our community. New Era are proud of our close bonds with PCP and hope we can continue to work together and improve as well as strengthen our friendship in the future.



So how did the country vote yesterday?

Well in last months election we were the second largest party in Congress only 29 votes behind the TUP/UKRP coalition, returning to the hallowed hall of Congress with 10 representatives elected, granted two of those were PCP members, but we managed to receive 141 votes which was 23.66% of the voting eUK public. Pretty Impressive for a party whose first election was in September 2012.

Yesterday you, the eUK, allowed us 164 votes...that is 24.70% of the voting public.Not only that but we, for the first time in our short history, are THE largest party in yesterdays Congress elections. Thank you. On behalf of PCP and New Era we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will not let you down or take your trust for granted. Again we are humble enough to know that we owe the voting public, PCP members and indeed our own members a huge debt of gratitude - your tireless work, PM's, articles and shouts in the news feed was noted and appreciated.

Again the New Era project has seen our party promote 50% of our elected Congressmen who were elected enter the hallowed halls of Congress for the first time. Along with the Young Player Media Scheme (see below) we will help support new players to the game and guide them through all aspects of eRepublik and hopefully they will become the leaders of tomorrow.

New Era congress representatives will now begin the process of forming a new Congress that will go on to help run our country, we will work with all parties to push forward and make the eUK a stronger more progressive country that we can all be proud of. Today history was made and now the hard work begins.

Finally on the subject of yesterdays election - Can we add that this month has been noted for a quiet but dignified campaign, no slurs, no mudslinging or 'Bawwing' and it was a pleasant change for the eUK, we hope this will continue and we thank the whole community for that.

New Era are also proud to announce we have our own party section on the eRepublik forums. The New Era section will be self moderated and only viewed by members of New Era and so far we have a dozen members already approved with access, the choice is yours as always if you want to use this form of communication...but it is there and already set up and can be found by clicking THIS link. So far we have withheld using sub forums etc etc so It is all in one section, once we know that the members are using the section then we will include sub forums and look to build upon it. Baby steps.
The New Era section already contains (amongst other things) links to graphics for your articles if you wish to use them, a record of all the eUK Congress elections New Era has participated in and a thread with links to articles by all New Era members.

And finally, If you are a new player in the eUK you are entitled to free food from the Government in the eUK's NHS scheme which is designed to make your early stages in the game run as smooth as possible. The food comes from donations from members of the public so please do not be afraid to apply as at the beginning of everyone's eRepublik life we all needed a little help.
