Join the new world

In previous articles, I've had to go back and change a few pieces of information that are no longer relevant, but need to be corrected. A major change that just occurred this morning is a restructure of the eArmy. Here's the email I received, and I'll break it down for you guys based on what you need to know... (bold will be my comments, so check for those.)

As of 1200 hours PST all Army Platoons shall henceforth be known as "Divisions".

1st Platoon will become 1st Division.
2nd Platoon will become 2nd Division.
3rd Platoon will become 3rd Division.

Also, Squads shall henceforth be known as Platoons. Their designations shall be as follows:
Squad #1 through Squad #6 shall be known as 1st Platoon 1st Division through 6th Platoon 1st Division.
Squad #7 through Squad #13 shall be known as 1st Platoon 2nd Division through 7th Platoon 2nd Division.
Squad #14 through Squad #20 shall be known as 1st Platoon 3rd Division through 7th Platoon 3rd Division.

Nomenclature for simple identification shall be the Division Number slash the Platoon Number. So 1st Platoon 1st Division will be 1/1. 3rd Platoon 2nd Division shall be 2/3 etc.
(All this really did for us is add what division we are in, and changed Squad to Platoon. We are 5th Platoon 1st Division, or 1/5 (D/P))
Also, Squad Leaders, be advised that I will be snatching your Sgt Majors for leaders of some newly formed Squads over the next few days as enlistment progresses. We have had to expand some of the Squads to 15 troopers. I prefer them remain at 12 but I had to expedite the assignment of new recruits.

Once we reach 9 Platoons per Division we are going to have to insert a level between Division and Platoon. Commonly this is either Battalion or Company. I am going to go with Company. There will be three Companies per Division each with three Platoons. That way we can continue to add new Platoons to each Company thus enabling us to expand yet further. The more active Platoon Leaders (which was known as Squads) shall be contacted to take command as Company Commanders. Company Commanders shall have the rank of Captain.

1st Division shall have three Companies: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie.
2nd Division shall have three Companies: Delta, Echo, and Foxtrot.
3rd Division shall have three Companies: Golf, Hotel, and India.
(If and when that happens, we'll be in Bravo Company. Just FYI)
The Platoons assigned to these Companies shall then be designated as 1st Platoon Charlie Company or 3rd Platoon Golf Company, etc. Their simple designation shall be Charlie One, or Echo Three, or Hotel Two and so forth.

I hope this is not too confusing. If it is I shall endeavor to clarify as needed.
The biggest thing to remember is that we are only really changing names around. All the structure is staying basically the same as far as you guys are concerned. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have three new Privates to break...
