New Communist Movement: RIP

Day 889, 02:08 Published in Netherlands United Kingdom by Jos Alembic

Some time ago, at the last party president elections, the New Communist Movement saw a new leader, dionysus. After he won the party was suddenly renamed to "ProgressNL" and made a sharp turn to the right. On IRC chat, dionysus made very clear he's not interested in communist politics and he's mainly in it "for the xp". I have chatlogs available, contact me privately.

This is obviously a coup if there ever was one and a setback to the communist movement in the Netherlands, which is tiny by all accounts anyhow. I leave behind my desire to fully merge the two parties into one stronger communist party.

I did contact the other members, just three. This was my message:

Hello there comrade,
With the takeover of dionysus as party president, your party has seen a sharp move to the right. No longer is it called the New Communist Movement, but has been renamed to "ProgressNL". It has also moved from the far-left to the center-left. By all standards the NCM was couped.
This means the Workers Party is the only far-left party left in eNL. I would like to ask you to join me in my quest to build the CPNL and join the Internationale. With your help we can grow towards the top-5 of parties, enabling us to compete in Congress at the next elections. While I'm relatively new, I am trying to build a vibrant communist community in eNL, with for example our own forums.
Will you help me build that community? Join the Workers Party today!
Comradely,
Jos Alembic

One of these three came back to me so far and his reply was rather intruiging for a self-proclaimed communist:
"I'm a bit interested but first there is the most important question from my side: what is in it for me?"

I rest my case.
