Neutrality : another point of view

Hi, I would like to answer to Miles article and to share my point of view about India's neutrality.

I don't think joining an alliance would be so fantastic.

First, he thinks that fighting is the most interesting feature of the game. Why not, it's the basis and the goal of the game. But does an alliance allows you to fight more ? Maybe, but most of the time you fight in conflicts you don't care, with countries at the other side of the world. We can see neutrality has given us several wars, in India, and for India ; and these ones are the most interesting wars we can have.

I'm not sure there would have less war in India by joining an alliance. Whatever alliance we join, we'll be in the middle of the conflicts as a weak country and the "center" of Asia. We are on the road to West or to East.

But, the most important thing, i think is the lack of power of India. If we join an alliance, be sure we will not be heard. we won't have any choice, we will not influence the decisions. Alliances are build for the most powerful countries, like Phoenix was for Hungary, or Eden for Poland and Spain. Don't expect a lot of respect from the other countries. it won't protect you from invasions.
When France was in PEACE or PHOENIX and there was a conflict in France and in Hungary at the same time, you could be sure the alliance orders were "Fight for Hungary".

If only Karnataka was yet a strategic region, it would be interesting to join an alliance. I want free India, i don't want to be the puppet of Poland, Hungary, Spain, Turkey, Serbia, Romania or USA. I want a free India, even if I have to fight for it everyday. We have friends, and we know it. Joining an alliance don't make the countries into it your friends.
