Neutrality and Hypocrisy

I'll start by saying this.
Awesome job fighting in Kyushu. The US Military continues to prove itself as a formidable force on the battlefield. Our fighting men and women fought to the bitter end and fell just a bit short. It was an honor fighting alongside you all, and I'm looking forward to the next battle.
We fought valiantly, and we lost. There is no shame in that. What I do find shameful is the current crop up of hypocrisy regarding our invasion of Japan. The media is flush with the usual "Fail" articles that our enemies so love to write. I see former US citizens shouting "Imperialism!" as if we attacked Japan just for the hell of it. Ads run screaming for impeachment, new citizens confused.
Let us not forget Japan was the country that opened the door for the Indonesian invasion of America. Japan the supposed "neutral" country that allowed Indonesia to attack us. Neutral, no I think not.
For weeks eRepublik has witnessed countless Americans screaming for the invasion of the UK. The UK, the (once) supposed neutral country that allowed Hungary to move through and invade North America.
Instead of invading the UK, we chose to go west and attempt to punch through Japan and liberate oppressed regions in Asia. Regions that belong to our friends and allies, regions that belong to countries that sacrificed themselves by blocking attacks against unbeatable odds.
Let us not forget our History, Japan is not neutral. Our allies still have regions under occupation in Asia. Also war with Japan is not the ultimate goal here, Japan is merely the gateway into occupied Asia. Countries like North Korea paid the ultimate price for us in WW3. America honors its friends. We are not imperialists, we are true allies.
Please feel free to explain the difference in attacking Japan, a country that aided in our invasion and attacking the UK, a country that aided in the invasion.
There isn't one.
In fact, attacking Japan at least affords us the opportunity to help those that have helped us. Invading the UK would be fun, don't get me wrong, but the war in Asia has purpose, we owe our friends some aid, going through Japan was the start of our efforts.
See you on the battlefield Phoeniks, at least we have your full attention again. It will be nice to have a challenge again every once in awhile. The forces of America and Eden will not allow your oppression to continue.

If I were PHX, I'd be happy but I'd also be worried. They won by 68000. Which is less than 3 heavy tanks could put up. There is an identifiable list of mistakes that could have made up that damage with much more to spare. They squeaked this one out and they know it.

You got it wrong. Japan refused to allow Indo use their country, then Indo threatened to occupy them. They picked the better option for them. It would be like Nazi Germany asking France is they could use their bases and stuff to attack the UK, France says no, Germany threatens to occupy them, France allows them to attack Britain (Hypothetical of course)
Have a look here, Malaysia fought against us. So much for neutrality.

Porosus, Indo threatened to occupy them, yes; what we did was just to get a landswap accomplished ... we did not want to occupy anyone! That land would have been returned and we would have resumed with our goal of freeing forcibly occupied lands; our end goal would have ended up with us gaining a net ZERO regions for ourselves, hardly "imperialistic".
That's me and Wisher standing by ready to issue orders in the next battle.

That was the statement I was referring too. No where did I claim that the US was imperialistic, I was merely giving a rebuke.

I was there with President Jewitt at the closing of the battle today, and the first thing he said was "Guys, that was an amazing performance." And it was.

Mr. DaSmoe I have been saying this for the last three days in replies to the eUS citizens that have been crying imperialism and eAmerica hasn't learned their lesson yet! I am genuinely happy to see an article like this one.

Well stated, Joe. We gave 'em hell and we'll take our losses like men (something the Phoeniks aren't). We'll learn, dust ourselves off and try again, but we will persevere and Asia will be liberated. India has stood up to Iran and is attacking them. The seeds have been planted. Soon our Asian brothers-in-arms will rise to the call and we'll be there for them every step of the way.
Here's looking for to Kyushu II and eventually Heilongjiang!

You didn't attack Japan to liberate anybody. Finally you realized that your economy needs a high iron region. That's what this attack was all about...

@Griffandar - our ecomomy already has a full supply of cheap iron from Spain and Greece. You remember Greece, the high iron region we took from Turkey?
This was about DENYING iron to the enemy, not acquiring it for ourselves. The entire post-WWIII mission of the eUSA military is to dismantle the PEACE/PHX war machine. To deny them the necessities of continuing oppression and aggression. These are strategic goals, but that does not mean they cannot support and be part of other goals such as the assisting allies and liberating occupied regions. This is not mutually exclusive.
