Neo V News Special! Interview with sir_c0nstant!

Day 720, 03:25 Published in Australia Australia by Nathaniel Wren

Good day to you all, ladies and gents! Today we have a very special guest here in the Mansion of Neo-Victorian Blatherings. An eminent and active member of the Australian National Party, as well as a good friend of mine, sir_c0nstant will be joining us for a late afternoon tea, where we will discuss all of the important topics in today’s new eAustralia. This is your humble Neo V Blatherer, Nathaniel Wren reporting.

I and sir c0nstant sit down in the study, gathering our thoughts. I am the first to speak.

Wren: First things first, a most important question: Tea, or Coffee?

c0nstant: Coffee, milk, 2 sugars please.

Wren: Excellent, excellent. Alright, let's get down to business proper now. What is your personal take on the recent events of Western Australia?

c0nstant: Personally I'm glad we have got WA back, it was all a bit underhand and sneaky in the process and we my never know the whole story, but its good. It has given us plenty to think about though... First is the alliance issue, we have agreed to the broalliance, but I believe that to be a friends pact rather than anything serious. Eden is the real issue, and MPPs, now the cost has gone up the MPP with USA is vital to defence. If that can be achieved without being in Eden, then it’s a win/win situation for eAus, because we would have managed a MPP without becoming too involved with the main alliances, and would keep our Sol alliance placated somewhat. We have to wonder if Indonesia will see it this way though... Secondly are the WA companies. Those companies were put in an occupied region, our region, which was taken from us and used spoils of war. I do not believe we should have to buy those companies back. If those companies are put on the market then a slow natural buy back could take place though, from interested parties.
Thirdly, now that we have WA back our economy has started to struggle. We have too few people to buy the goods on the market, and wages are creeping up. Now it’s effecting our money markets as well, devaluing our AUD.

Wren: Quite the insight into the blessing and curse that is Western Australia. From a purely academic perspective, if you had been in the position to redo these events, would you have done anything differently?

c0nstant: I think I would have also taken the opportunity, but it’s a case of knowing what actually went down at the time. I think I would have done the same, though.

Wren: As the Party President, would you care to fill the readers in on some of the interior workings of your job?

c0nstant: Well, There are 2 sides to the job. 1st is the eRepublik side of it, and the other is outside of eRepublik, in irc and the forums. On eRepublik, I have to endorse the candidates for senate, endorse the Country Presidential candidate and take care of the advertising budget. Outside eRepublik, I work at getting the party involved in day to day things like recruitment and planning for elections. It’s made easy by having a group of members willing to put time into help me achieve these things. It’s mainly just delegating small tasks to many people and we actually get things done.

Wren: What are some of the milestones in eAustralian history you have witnessed during your public service?

c0nstant: I was born on 30.01.2009 - Day 437 of the New World, so I missed the initial Return, so I’ve been around for the other regions besides NSW and Victoria. Basically since then I’ve missed only a few days: even whilst on holiday I managed to get a few hours. I was in senate during the handovers of all the other regions, and when I wasn’t in senate I voted in the South Africa PTO attempt, and travelled to Korea to fight there.

Wren: Are you glad you were tasked with spearheading this party during such tumultuous times?

c0nstant: It's been interesting to say the least, first with Barnabas, then PaPP. I’ve had some serious lows with the election results and I let the party know about it on the forums, which is the main reason I’m standing again to fix that up. Dropping to 3rd is a blow as well especially as we managed to stabilise our membership, but I’ve managed to pick up our activity now, so hope to see that start creeping up again. Its been fun watching what’s going on at the moment, I’ve tried to distance myself somewhat, because I know what its like being not liked and when I made the decision to come clean and apologise publicly, I took my punishment and then some. Look where I am now, I’ve come through it a better man

Wren: Do you have any comments to make in regards to recent scandals concerning a certain array of allegations levelled at the Australian National Party by the Procreate and Populate Party?

c0nstant: We have done nothing wrong as a party, my members are free to write comments and articles as they see fit, I have no plans to mute them. If an article is made asking a question, the decent thing to do is answer it truthfully, but as seems to happen a lot of mud slinging starts. I believe so far only one article by an ANP member has been removed by Admins, so we are doing ok on that front. We do take party politics seriously and defend our policies where we need to, and having a party without any policies as such is fair game in politics. What I'm trying to say is if you want to get into politics, you have to expect the rough with the smooth and not go all sooky when someone says they don’t like you. You have to not be afraid to get your point across and we have some of the best people in the party doing that.

Wren: Furthermore, do you have any comments regarding the PaPP’s own scandals?

c0nstant: Yes, they could have all gone away with a public apology by Paul a long time ago. That was the start of it. Now he seems to be encouraging it with forums posts, so I don’t see it ending anytime soon. I’ve read in comments that they are working on policies, which is welcome news.

Wren: Given the number of hot-headed accusations being hurled about, would you like to give a message to the average PaPP member?

Moments after asking this question, the Interview Room was assailed by a fleet of zeppelins. After a brief firefight, I returned to the interview to hear c0nstant’s reply.

c0nstant: Yes. Any PaPP member out there should read the actual article first, and make sure their Party President answers their questions, then there would be no need for mudslinging. If the questions are not answered, then it’s no surprise that people become wary and suspicious of you. As you have stated, you are mainly all new players and are blindly following a leader who has given no hint of a direction for the party, all on the premise that he is a nice man who gives us information and help. I find it strange that you follow him for that reason alone. As a kid you are told to be wary of strange people that are nice, give you lollypops and want you to be their friend. I feel that he is that man and be wary of him. Push him to be open, remember he has already completed a Political takeover of a party, made a script against eRepublik rules to enable people who clicked his ad to join the party straight away. So far the only good thing he has done is help people, so why take over a party when he could have helped on his own, or used ausEaid to accomplish all these things. He only had to ask.

Wren: What are your thoughts concerning the upcoming Party President Elections?

c0nstant: well naturally I want to win. I think I deserve to continue what I’ve started and a bit of continuity at the moment is a good thing.

Wren: Do you have a message for Australian National Party Voters?

c0nstant: Yes. I've made an effort to get more people involved that want to get involved in party matters, and have tried to make that I have at least made some kind of contact with them all, either by friends or direct messaging. We now have more people active in forums and IRC. We are also more active in the media and politics. I would like to see this continue and make sure that everyone knows we are an active party in eAustralia.

Wren: Do you have a message for your fellow competitors for Party President?

c0nstant: Well a note to my challengers- my previous two challengers for the PP spot have both been banned for multies, I hope its note a 3rd. Seriously though, I know Guy and he will give it his best shot. As for Godeer and snazzyest1, I don’t know a lot about them. They have no media outlet and would probably be out of their depth, and I would encourage them to get involved with the party more if they have serious political ambitions.

Wren: And, the final question for this evening's interview: What are your plans for the Australian National Party, if you get re-elected?

c0nstant: The initial 10 days would be to make sure the communication lines are open for the elections and let everyone know what’s going on. Most of the other processes are in place and the continuity would be good as more people become involved. With the committees in place I would like to see our membership move towards 200. We will continue to be active in all forms of the game, and after the senate elections our focus will switch to Newt Gingrich and his charge for country president. We feel it’s time we had a serious push for the top job after supporting Australian Independent or True Blue Party's candidates for goodness knows how long. Newt has been in cabinet and senate for a long time now, and is one of the most informed guys I know, so the whole media circus will be geared for him next term.

Wren: Well, thankyou very much for your time, sir_c0nstant. Keep up the wonderful work.
