Nebula - a cloud of dust, oppression & corruption
NoTie112
I wanted to inform you on the recent approach to Nebula. This will be a semi-official statement (hence being posted in my private newspaper) based on both the last government's sentiments and my observations of Nebula.
Some willing officials of Nebula contacted us already in June - during the government term of Kordak - when we were attacked by Germany. Naturally, we appreciated any help we could get and were surprised to find an ally like Nebula in such a dark hour. Some nations (but absolutely not all) and some officials began to push us more and more and consequently we decided in July to start approaching Nebula for official entry. Nebula seemed like the perfect fit for us at that moment (but in hindsight obviously not); it was a nation of equals where we'd amount to something (would-be one of the strongest nations in Nebula) and where we could have some influence and therefore fun, strategy and activity.
Obviously we already had some concerns about the state of internal organisation of Nebula. But we never expected to be in the strange and chaotic ride that followed in the months afterwards. We've seen many questionable actions being taken (senseless airstrikes), we've seen SGs being banned for multi usage or just dissapearing, leaving Nebula often without any representation. We've seen heavy publicized criticism of Nebula nations/officials, which were consequently forced to remove their contents by Nebula HQ. We've peeked and saw some specific nations (and more specifically their officials) in Nebula corrupting the entire thing with their powerplays, backstabbings and ego-thumping. We've heard and seen derogatory and often insulting terms and actions being used against us, which we do not deserve as an equal nation.
In the end, it took 2 full months before any concrete discussion and vote was taken on our application. We never received any formal word how that ended, despite it being taken one full week ago. However, we've already taken our own conclusion: Joining Nebula is not an option at this moment and won't be unless some things radically change in that very alliance. In their grab for not-to-be-found prestige, some nations (specifically their officials in Nebula) are vetoing our entry; but most importantly they've been vetoing the entire alliance from functioning for months. I'm not explicitly going to name the obvious culprits, but I'm sure most of us are very aware of whom we are talking here. I ask the current responsible leadership: How much more refusals, scandals and oppression of internal citizens/officials does it require to realize you're essentially fast-forwarding the collapse of Nebula?
However, not all is negative. Since our approach to Nebula we've made tremendous improvements in our general geopolitical situation and we couldn't achieve that without the help of our friends in Nebula. Nations (and citizens of) like Norway, the Czech Republic & Australia shouldn't feel attacked by this honest article at all, as we found them frequently to be on our side regarding our conflicts with(in) Nebula. We will see you again soon in the future and we will keep close! When elements like those - wanting genuine and fair alliance mechanics to function on a long-term base - are being oppressed, all hope is indeed lost.
Kind regards,
Former President & Minister of Foreign Affairs,

that was mordor....sauron deceived another alliance of men -.-
Tittle of this article is all wrong. Can you proof me that there was any corruption or oppression in NEBULA?
You were our top1 subject at the beggining of this month, because we didn't want you to wait this long. But, after temp bann of our SG, things went on better, and alliance tried to work as a team to make a better alliance. As you maybe know, you can't join our alliance if 1 country doesn't agree with it, that's our charter. Firstly, I would decline you because of hurrying up our alliance. Also, I can tell that only Australia spent 300k cc in defending and I didin't see any words of thank, but I will not be that guy. Enough from me, we gave you a lot, and what did you give to us? If you remember, fighting for Belgium against MNE&JAPAN AS.
If this is your choice, it's okay to me! o7
those air-strikes where before we even held our referendum....
and if an alliance can't get their shit together 2 months after an application has been received something is very wrong with that alliance.
Eh odan, you certainly know that we need to be 100% sure about country that changed sides. As easily you changed you opinion to our side, you can change it again. And you must know that you are not our only problem, we are trying to change charter, help Israel, and we can't do 100 thing a time, because it will be a big mess.
will be a big mess? it already is a big mess.
and HQ knew we would keep our friendship with Belgium and the UK. that was communicated quite clearly.
but looking at the HQ now i can see that there is only 1 guy with the experience to be there and i'm saying that even though i can't stand the guy.
Don't be like that. We are very thankful for the recourses that AUSTRALIA (funnily enough you didn't see it as a Nebula effort?) has invested us and we will do the same when they're in a pressing situation, just as we invested tons of CO money in nations like Canada when they were up in Europe. Saying that we unappreciative of Australia is very insulting and a lie.
However, that is all just irrelevant to what the real discussion is. Another attempt at circumventing the problems in Nebula for which sadly your country is partly to blame for. This is all just a divide-and-conquer ( trying to pathetically pit us against Australia or smth) strategy and a bad one if I may add.
Wait NoTie112, you firstly wrote this article, and put this tittle to blame our alliance, and to dishonor it. I wrote that only Australia spent 300k cc, and that I didn't want to talk about others help, because I didn't know that. And, what's my country guilty about, please tell me that too. 🙂
NoTie112, the 300k came from my pocket as a favour to some of your senior players who I have the utmost respect for.
But after reading your article and the way you talk... including that you want to join "where we could have some influence" in a democratic alliance... well, if your in the next government, my wallet might be closed tight.
You point some bloody obvious things in this article, the same things people said to you as reasons for holding back your application, until we can get some stability in the alliance. For the record (yes NEBULA will punish me for saying this) and as I told you and your members, I was one of the people who voted 'no' to you joining, not because I didnt want NL in NEBULA, I strongly believe that we need to ensure our house is in working order before inviting more people.
Even though, you think not all members helped, I know when NL was fighting off Germany, the NEBULA military thread was all about you guys, the fact countries cared enough for you, to fight for you (failed AS you say... wasnt it on Denmark in the hope to hit Germany to help you???) you still find it fun to slag off an alliance your trying to join.
Rusty, I think Notie is refering to Alliances in the past we were involved in. In those alliances eNL was too small to have a say in anything. In Nebula we expected to be equals and so actually have some influence. Hope this explains that.
Nebula not working out? Who would have thought?
Nebula alliance organization is very cloudy if you as me.
A nebula (Latin for "cloud";[2] pl. nebulae, nebulæ, or nebulas) is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionized gases.
So, Nebula to eNL: we voted NO to you and we expect you to be happy about it
Orion is a better choice anyways
Me personally, think that eNL got the better end of the deal after what happened. They just missed a trainwreck in full speed head on collision waiting to happen, pretty soon.
tonie what the hell what the fuck. why do you say this and making decisions without congress input. there was no vote thanks tonie.
Perhaps Congress should get a grip on reality. By the way, consensus has already turned into definite disapproval of Nebula. We did research the possibility to join Nebula and it didn't work out. That's the end of the story. You're free to make a vote in Congress to confirm that, though, instead of making some bizarre point? (Especially considering you were the most vocal opponent of Nebula).
There were a lot of people who expected a lot of Nebula, maybe even too much. Nebula invited us to their alliance, which is a huge opportunity for a small country like eNL. There are not a lot of countries who can see the value of a small country, but Nebula did. At least, that's what we thought. It's a huge dissapointment if you're asked to be part of an alliance, you agree and then you have to wait two months to hear they don't want you in.
There is clearly something wrong in the alliance and it's good they see it themselves. I hope Nebula can sort things out first, and maybe in the future eNL will be in a position to agree again on a proposal of joining the alliance. Till that time I think we just have to continue our course. This are exciting times and our new course has turned out very well.
I also think we can't blame Nebula for their incapability of handling our application in the light of their problems. Of course it's dissapointing for us, but they will also be not happy with the situation. As I said earlier, I hope Nebula can work things out and I will keep an eye on them and I am excited to see this alliance evolve. With or without the eNetherlands.
I respect very much your point of view and your opinions (except for the title of the article where I think you pushed it too hard).
Also, when you choose to name some countries and not to name others, you leave room for injustice.
I understand your position. Perhaps the title was too sensationalist 😉
Also I do not think it's my place to name countries, as that would get very messy quick.. I think in the coming days (seeing Norway leaving etc) will make it very clear who is to blame and whom not.
Nevertheless I wish you and Uruguay much luck o/
Without alliance drama there would be nothing left of the game.
That's probably true! http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-president-s-office-norway-withdraws-from-nebula--2543193/1/20
