Natural Disaster - Canada Sank

I was browsing through the eWorld map today and here is what I saw:

Where has Canada gone!?

Wait until the map renders...
Zoom in 5 times &
Search for Canada.
I hope you'll find it, because I couldn't.

Canada Sank to the Bottom of the Atlantic Ocean?

It is yet not sure was it an earthquake or tsunami, although any of these two is possible, but the whole Canada sank into the Atlantic Ocean along the USA borders all the way to the Pacific Coast.

The second largest eRepublic country is gone in mere second. More than 2000 eRepublik Citizens lost their homeland today. And eWorld lost around 7% of its dry land. Not only Canadian core regions have been affected, but also 2 regions on Atlantic coast of France. 15 regions gone in North America: Alberta, British Columbia, Maine, Manitoba, Michigan, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon.

It is still unknown how did USA avoid this disaster, but luckily they did so. Only effects it had on the USA are that northern US states got more coastline and Alaska has become an island.

It is here where the USA end and where Canada should begin.

However, instead of Canadian soil, there is only Canadian Sea and vast area of the Atlantic Ocean.

I just got some information that this disaster could also be connected to the global warming problem.


Canada - Let is snow, let it snow, let it snow! (Ctrl+Alt+x)

As there has been a lot of snow falling in eRepublik in last few days (Ctrl+Alt+x), and as temperatures have risen sharply in all Canada today and yesterday, it is very probable that the snow and partially the ice caps have melted and the level of Atlantic Ocean has risen and flooded both side coasts of Atlantic.


Day 1486 - Sunk Valley of Loire and Pays de la Loire

To be more precise, two regions in Western Europe are gone under the see. It seems that the huge ocean wave has spread way into the European continent through Loire river as well, as Pays de la Loire and Loire Valley have been also flooded by the ocean.

Canada - a New Atlantis?

Is Canada turning into a New Atlantis? Would we need to spend months or even years by searching it on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean? Will it become another legend and a myth when many years pass from now? Only Godmins know that... And Plato as well...

Natural Disasters in eRepublik

Even not so experienced eRep players are already used to many natural disasters in eRepublik. During last four years we have been experiencing it almost all; starting from the weird ways of Godmins and their decisions which affect our daily e-life almost every week, through headless chickenzilla, which abuses us regularly but still unexpectedly.

We have been experiencing economic crises and overproduction for a long period in eHistory and invisible Adminbot on markets, which causes money rains.

Some of the players have even experienced permaban virus spreads. (Just ask Ice Killa).

But I have to admit, that although there were periods of time when map was acting strange, occasionally showing only Greenland or even not showing anything at all, a disaster like this one is very peculiar and not seen in eRep yet.

For those unbelievers, see it yourself. Go to Community->Worldmap wait until the map renders, zoom in 5 times and search for Canada. I hope you'll find it, because I couldn't.

There was a similar event 5 days ago, when Poland went down under together with a part of Canada.

This way Canada got liberated from Polish intruders, although it lost a region or two. Anyway, it is a relatively small price to pay for liberty.

Western Europe Archipelago

Poland sinking created several islands in Western Europe archipelago which consisted of 5 islands; beside Ireland and Great Britain, there has appeared an island of Benelux with parts of France, including Lower Normandie and Paris, then the German island strip spreading from Berlin to Thuringia and finally the Northern Netherisland.

New Shores

Some traditionally landlocked European countries got seashores. Switzerland got its new Atlantic coast, Slovakia profited even more by setting its feet both to the Atlantic Ocean and to the Baltic Sea. Even Hungary got a junction point on the Baltic Sea.

Eastern European countries like Ukraine and Bulgaria also got their second Sea Coast. Beside the Black Sea border, they also got the Baltic shores. Belarus, formerly without the coastline got also the Baltic coastline.

Slovenia, the Country of the Three Seas

I think that Slovenians have finally made it, they got the most from eRepublik map compared to their core regions. Beside the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Coast, they have also broken out to the Atlantic Ocean, getting finally a chance to become a transatlantic nation, just like Croatia has recently become.

Unfortunately, at the moment it seems that turning to a transatlantic maritime nation might be lost for Slovenia. The map of Europe seems slowly to be returning to normality. What Godmin giveth, Godmin taketh away, as usual.
