National goals [EN]

Day 807, 07:25 Published in Romania Romania by deus otiosus

A month ago, candidates for country presidency were able to select "national goals" to be accomplished during their mandate. Some have chosen very ambitious ones (US, Brazil, France, Russia) and missed; some have chosen very modest ones (Poland - 1% increase of population and achieved the highest success - 100% increase, for the second consecutive month – Amazing!), while some did not choose national goals.
Most of the countries have chosen the control of their native regions as one of the goals, and they were more or less successful. As compared to previous month, the GDP and population increase targets were lowered, and achieved in many cases (as compared to the previous month, when only US accomplished the set GDP increase). Control of foreign regions was in most cases impossible to fulfill.

Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Colombia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Mexico, Norway (again), Paraguay, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, Uruguay accomplished all of their goals and are the winners of this month.
Argentina, Croatia, Czech Republic (again), Indonesia (again), Ireland, Pakistan, Thailand, USA missed all of their goals.
Key to success: small country, no ambitions, be in South America.
Key to failure: big country, big success. Europe.

As I was saying, these goals tend to be a joke, unless something is changed.

Detailed list of national goals, by country:

Argentina – missed all goals - control of new regions and population increase. With no military force and 14 new citizens/day, these goals were most like jokes.

Australia – 1 goal accomplished, control of native regions. Missed population and economic target. Nothing spectacular here.

Austria - 2 goals accomplished, kept control of original regions and population increase. Missed (by 3 gold!!) the GDP increase.

Belgium – 1 goal, 1 hit: On day 807 own control of the following regions: Wallonia.

Bolivia – All goals accomplishe😛 control of native regions, GDP (8😵 and population (5😵 increase.

Bosnia and Herzegovina - All goals accomplishe😛 control of native regions, GDP (1😵 and population (5😵 increase.

Brazil – 2 goals accomplished (GDP and population increase), missed control of Western Australia.

Bulgaria - All goals accomplishe😛 control of Sofia (conquered in the war against Romania, with Serbian help), GDP and population increase. As a consequence of the previous month’s Romanian conquest, they’ve had a strong baby boom (>12.000 citizens as of today).

Greece - no goals selected. Again. In the same brotherhood with China.

India - 2 goals accomplished (control of some of the original regions and GDP increase). Missed population target.

Indonesia - no goals accomplished. Again. Population and GDP increase, missed. Lost control of some of their regions. They are going down. Or they are already down? Not yet. They should lose some native regions, as well – just to see how it is.

Ireland - no goals accomplished. Population and GDP increase, missed. Did not conquer Northern Ireland (yeah, nationalism is good for eRepublik)

Uruguay - All goals accomplishe😛 control of original regions, GDP and population increase.

USA – missed everything (GDP, population, control of UK). Last month I was saying: Missed control of London and Northern Ireland (didn't even try).). At least now, they are trying.

Venezuela - no goals selected. These South Americans… either they don’t select anything, or they select something “cheap” and get it. And then, this country or that country is victorious. Yeah.
