NARC puts up first Hospital
PopandLock
As promised, NARC is pleased to announce the construction of a new hospital in the Atlantic provinces. After a lot of hard work by our members, we have privatley funded the addition of a Q4 hospital in Newfoundland.
We hope this shows our commitment to this region, and it's people. We have a few other infrastructure projects planned over the next few months, and encourage all citizens to get behind us, and help us make this country truly great!

What a waste. If we are not going to have a fortress strategy, the Gov should have pulled one of those Q5's out of storage and planted it in Newfoundland.
Kudos to you for raising the needed funds on your own, though. I just think the Gov should have done the right thing and given you a Q5, so all those resources you raised could have gone towards something else.
I am lobbying the government for some support for our next project
Why waste a Q5 hospital in a useless region when we could keep it in store? If they want to waste a Q4 fine, let them
congratulations NARC 🙂
Spencer: because allowing them to place a Q4 will have a detrimental effect on our "fortress strategy". But it doesn't seem like we really care about a fortress strategy anyways, why not provide the best for those poor bastards in Newfoundland?
What the hell are we doing with those 3 Q5 hospitals anyways? Health Canada is still busy producing them, so what is the end-game? To have 8 Q5's in stock sitting there, and a half-assed pretend fortress strategy? You're in congress and have access to closed-door debate, so maybe you could help me understand.
If we aren't going to have a fortress strategy, why not put the best hospitals in every region? Now we have three regions with Q5, three regions with Q4, and soon a region with a Q3 (N😎. Our precious fortress strategy has gone down the sh*tter, so doesn't it stand to reason that if we arent going to have it, we ought to provide the best in each region. Health Canada is 2/3's of the way to another hospital, which means there will be 4 of them collecting dust.
I applaud the efforts to raise the money for the hospital, and didn't honestly expect it to happen so quickly.
I'm with Temu on this one though, I didn't realize the government had some to spare. If they're gonna put up a Q4, might as well pitch in the Q5 for them. The way I see it, we need 1 Q5 hospital in storage, maximum, in the event eCanada is reduced to rubble and our hospitals pillaged, we'll be able to establish a fortress in one region to rebuild from. Newfoundland isn't a useless region either, it's oil-rich. With or without public (government) support, these efforts are obviously moving forward. If Newfoundland is attempting to develop, why not pitch in and support it. They're precariously perched on our Eastern seaboard, vulnerable to Phoenix invasion, and should be safeguarded.
Any hospital which is not a Q5 hurts Canada. People living in newfoundland because if IRL provincial loyalty will contribute less to the defense of Canada, period!
Every citizen living there can fight 1 less time each day, slowing their rank growth, and lowering Canada's effectiveness.
Frankly it is embarrassing.
How has it gone down the sh*tter? You'd have to back yourself up on that one. The only plan that ever failed was the 'hospital for every region' when we lost them all when we got invaded. Putting a Q4 in NFLD is useless. Only 42 people live there. Half of them can't fight. There is only about 12 to 20 Canadians there who can fight, and some of them are inactive and dying. And even then we won't be sure if they will fight since they obviously don't understand how the game works, living in a Hospitalless region for so long.
You could argue that adding a hospital means the population will bounce, but we put a Q4 in Nova Scotia and it is still at the same population level it was at when it didn't have a hospital. Unless Canada has a serious, real baby boom, then Q5 hospitals are only useful in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and British Colombia, where we have large RL population, and we ahve seen recent population growth
I mean it's gone down the sh*tter because at least the US has emplyed a real strategy by not putting lower Q hospitals anywhere at all, even though that rich bastard McFarland would fund the whole thing on his own for lulZ. Since we are no longer employing a fortress strategy, it seems silly to place Q4's (donated or not). It just flies in the face of the entire strategy.
I'm glad that it seems the Q4 in Nova Scotia hasn't caused a major bounce, but the one in BC surely has taken away from the fortresses in Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. 600 citizens tell the story. I guess time tell whether the NFLD Q4 makes a lick of difference or not. I simply wouldn't underestimate RL regionalism. Those 600 people (okay, maybe 100 of em are active?) have chosen to ignore game mechanics and the loss of 2 exp points plus accompanying extra damage each day.
Yergh. I can't help but think that if we are going to place hospitals, we might as well place a Q5 in as many regions as possible. Instead, we've allowed many citizens to waste a lot of resources that could have gone towards weapons, training, etc.
We are completely throwing away efficiency by placing these sub-optimal hospitals.. It honestly makes us look like idiots to the rest of the eWorld.
Which is why regionalism is stupid, imho.
Are you a Canadian before a Nova Scotian?
Obviously the Latter.
On behalf of Newfoundland and those of us that would like to remaine here.
Thanks

Seems that if this was such a bad idea, more people would vote NO, but infrastrcture is a good idea...especially in a border province with high oil...
PopandLock, most of the YES votes are from people who do not think it is a good idea, but do not want to shun the hard work of NARC, myself included.
Personally, I agree with Temujin's accessment of our current fortress strategy. There isn't much of a fortress at the moment.
With Canada's population, theoretically there should be only 1 Q5 hospital. Anything else is relatively easy to overcome by a somewhat sustained attack with numerous MMPs. Currently, only somewhere in the region of 5k population is a viable fortress.
Thus, I think it is prudent to plop down a Q5 for BC, because even if only a hundred or so people there are active, that's still a hundred fights lost per day. Since ranks and experience gives money and damage, we are losing quite a lot of damage in the long run.
The only reason I can see why we are stocking up hospital is perhaps there may be a change of hospital use in V2. But I only can see its use diminished, not increased.
