A great politician is?

It is hard to define a great politician to a standard that everyone will agree with, one can say a great politician is one that wins a lot, but that could also be a sign of party power or even better funding. To some it could be a politician who is good with speeches and words, but those could be written by someone else. These skills and resource alignments only cover what makes a good politician, not what makes a great politician. I asked my friend and current eUSA congressmen Portcolumbus for his take on the subject and this is what he sai😛

“I think what makes a great politician is someone who cares for their country, and cares for their fellow man. You have to be willing to sacrifice your own time, your own labor, to make the lives of the people much better. You must always put service above self, and never give in to special interests or corruption.”

I agree with this statement, even though today most politicians bend to the will of party, to the pressure of those who donated and funded the campaign, these actions are exactly why they are not great politicians, as a politician you should work for the will of those who voted you into office, you should hold true to your promises, and that is why I think politicians of today are not that great. In real life I find Obama to be an overrated overhyped president and politician; in the eUSA I think pfeiffer is an overhyped and frankly cynical political figure.

But not all politicians fail today, in the eUSA I see gnilraps as a hardworking politician, my friend port is a very honest politician, in eAustralia another friend of mine lancer450 is a highly successful politician, all three of them could be great with continued work.

As for real life politicians, the one who has inspired me most sadly was assassinated almost exactly 19 years before I was born, that would be Robert F. Kennedy, whom was very honest in his campaign, he was very passionate about what he stood for, and unlike some of today’s politicians he did not like to speak about himself, several of those who campaigned with him described it simply that he could not talk about himself, that he would rather talk about the issues America faced. So Bobby may have been an average senator, and we will never know how he would have done if elected president, but he was a great man whose passion went directly into his campaigns both in 68, and while supporting his brother in 1960.

The above is what I think is a great politician, in addition to writing the above I was offered the chance to write a few things about myself, I’ll keep it simple for personal reasons, I’m Cody Caine, and I write the Revolutionary times.
Final Thoughts and Quote of the Article
The above is the unedited version of something I wrote for The Wordsmiths Premier, I decided to share this version with my readers.

Quote:
"...We must recognize the full human equality of all our people-before God, before the law, and in the councils of government. We must do this, not because it is economically advantageous-although it is; not because the laws of God and man command it-although they do command it; not because people in other lands wish it so. We must do it for the single and fundamental reason that it is the right thing to do." ~Robert Francis Kennedy~
