My resignation of Phoenix

In December I had a conversation with Gaius Julius, former President of the United States and we both agreed that the current alliance system is not suspendable. That time Gaius was the Chief of Staff of the US Army and he led his forces through Asia. I was the president of Hungary, I won the election with the promise of an attack against Romania with large margin.

It seemed in December that the world is changing essentially. Romania started a campaign in Bulgaria and Turkey without te approval of EDEN, Poland experienced her epic babyboom and marched on German lands, while Spain begun to eliminate France. The USA also had a quasi solo war in Asia.

The main change was that the population of large counties grow tired of saving the little ones and wanted real action and fun, just like the Romanian campaign in Asia a year ago, or the North-America affair in the last summer. This need forced the leaders of these countries to made harsh decisions, which triggered tensions inside the two large alliance, EDEN and Phoenix. Also, these events appointed that to ensure the demands of strong countries would need to use some unexploited possibility.

I as a player never was driven by hate against other countries or nations. For me eRepublik is a game where is everything possible and the opposite of that also. However, the Hungarian babyboom a year ago was generated by the Romanian occupation of Hungary, when I'm talking with Hungarian or Romanian players they always agree that our competition had some hardly definable "comradeship" which made the game really enjoyable and fun for both fraction.

As a President of one of the main power in the game, my objective was to provide game experience to our population. Since, I won with the word of a new war against Romania I had to made that. Of course it was clear, that it will not be possible in the regular way. Our population was bored, eager to get new experiance. Many player left the game because of the lack of fun, which was not just the problem of Hungary, but the other countries also. Thats why everyone started new campaigns that time.

Here comes the above mentioned unexploited new synergies. Many country had her goals, to get fun to their players, while their alliance was just a serious barrage of it. "We want to fight against X, we are tired to save the ass of Y again, this leads to nowhere ffs", many player said. So we, the leaders of larger countries made some side agreement to ensure the requirements of our players and saving our country from extinction.

This was the time, when I agreed with Gaius that the large alliances has no future, but the cooperation of some countries for common goals. Like the Hungarian - Bulgarian against Romania, or the Polish - Spanish against France and Germany. If we have a real common goal, we can avoid that someone just quits the fun ruining the efforts of others, like we have seen that in the side peace agreement with the USA of Portugal and England. If 3-4 country foms an alliance to achieve something, there is no excuse for anyone, while in a large buerocratic general alliance, there are always somebody who gets sudden faggotry.

I was there when PEACE started to die and I was there when Phoenix raised from the ashes. The main idea of Phoenix was the cooperation of some large countries without the ballast of unnecessary buerocracy. The general room of Phoenix is still #ihs. This was created to form a cooperation between Indonesia, Hungary and Serbia. Unfortulatelly, PHX is now is there when PEACE was in her last times.

At the start of the North - America campaign, as the Supreme Commander of PEACE, I revived the #peace-warroom and gathered the most important persons there for the proper communication during the war. About 10 folks were there. In the last days of PEACE this number was about 50. Also, while in the initial times in the #peace-waroom there were just presidents and MoDs, the actual persons required for every operation, in the last times of PEACE there were many person who was just chatting and stuff. I think I dont have to say that it just killed the efficiency of PEACE. 🙂

Now the situation is the same in PHX. I dont want to harm anyone for this, I think its the normal way in the development of a large alliance. An alliance forms, grows, different needs occure, the buerocracy is not able handle every need, tensions appear, then the alliance dissolves. Its just question of time.

The recent relations are in the game almost for two year. Okey we call it Phoenix and EDEN, but hey its still PEACE and Atlantis. Men, its really boring. The recent relations are carved in stone because of the leaders of the large alliances, who had mainly personal hate against each other or against a given nation.

Times are changing however. For exmaple there is a huge need in both Hungary and Poland to play togather, but we cant do that because of the feelings of some "decision maker" in our recent alliance. For example, many ppl thinks, that Hungary and Romania are now quits, why wouldnt we do something togather. These are just some example, but I could list many other.


For me playing in Phoenix is not fun anymore. Today is the last day when I wear my flaming horse avatar, which was made by doktorur, a member of Hungarian Elite Forces, which is a reference to my name (Feherlo - White Horse) and the flames of a phoenix. Its not against something its to step forward for new adventures. Bye Phoenix, its was a pleasure.
