My resignation from PG

I hereby resign from my job as 2nd commander, avatar maker and member of the Praetorian Guard NL.

I was a proud and loyal member of the PG, even when a lot of members went to other countries or other military units I stood next to Commander M. de Ruyter as he told me PG would still be an e-NL mu.

You guys will have to believe me that we always followed the orders the government gave us. Of course the Norwegian members of PG didn't fight against their own country but even today the orders were still to fight for the Netherlands.

But today things went a step to far, a CO was placed to fight for Norway against the Netherlands.

Also with more and more PG members leaving to Norway, I think it’s my time to leave the MU.
As M. de Ruyter tells himself, some members are Norwegian and some are thinking about becoming one. But most of PG members are still dutch, so I advise M. de Ruyter to think about the future of his mu because in the current situation more and more members will be leaving.

I regret it that the once proud and top MU of e-NL falls into a hole, and I really hope to once see it back on top of the rankings.

I want to thank M. de Ruyter for all the time and money he spent on setting up communes to help the Dutch citizens. When I was secretary of the communes I saw you put a lot of real life money into helping the new Dutch citizens. You were the one who made me go into politics, you were the one who made me an active member of PG.

I hope you can help the Norwegian people with your experiences and activity.

Thanks for everything and I hope to see you back in the Netherlands one day,

I initially wanted to refrain from commenting because I don't want to be seen as gloating over this.

However, I have respect for your choice, it is a difficult decision to leave something behind that you worked long and hard for.

Especially liked the part of the PG avatars. I made mine myself, so I'm not in the list, but it's amazing to see what you've done: nearly 200 avatars. (My old avatar can be found on my wiki page: http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Djirtsdew )

I've also been struggling with leaving or not leaving PG for a long time. I've purposefully stayed in PG a few tournaments ago, but last tournament I left for DAF, on what I thought was a temporary basis. But then Trannsvaal's article convinced me that PG was spending money on Norwegian COs, which already was one bridge too far for me. Anti-NL COs are one step further along that trajectory, and I'm glad you're one of the people with the sense to leave.
I hope the rest will make the choice to DAF or to Norway, because from this point onward I doubt there are enough people to keep PG pro-NL. The next step will probably be DOs for Norway...

That's not possible, because luckily the MU is located in NL.

So? I didn't say orders against NL.
They can set orders for Norway versus anything but eNL, afaik.

And we won't be occupying them ad infinitum as far as I'm aware.

Although I love DAF become stronger its sad to see it develop like this 🙁

I am really sad, to see this great MU has just been destroyed. I also move to DAF cause of this what happening here. Maybe i wasnt in for long time, but when i join them, i read that PG is glorious, and proud to fight for Nederland. But now its all opposite.

I guess at the time you joined we still were NL's number one MU. But the more anti-NL actions PG takes, the more people will leave. At this point, I don't think the damage that has been done can be reversed.

Was more then one CO, was about 4 of them over various stages of the night.

Voted. MdR has Norwegian CS and it's only logical that he'll defend Norwegian interest. In that same reasoning it's only logical that pro-eNL players will leave PG for a pro-eNL MU, of which DAF is the biggest.

i can really understand your struggle coz myself was in the same position....... and couldn't stay for similar reasons....
I just went to portugal for the soccer tournament .... and coz they where so good to me i kept hanging arround till today.

i need some confincing m8 , the 3 day tournament didn't work for me the last time and was a bit dissapointed....... losing to a small foreign MU where only a few dedicated fighters did damage......

Than it should've been made clear ........ than i would've taken an different offer i had ..... with an MU that did go for the win.
I felt misled and missed out on the rewards i fought for .........., i specially came to DAF coz suggestions where made in the direction that DAF would go for the 1st place in ALL div's.
But after one day it was clear that only a few where going for the win.....

Also to me it wasn't all about the rewards but just for the honour..........rewards where a bonus....or better should've been a bonus

Under normal circumstances yes. Thats why we wanted to give the rewards to our young and new citizens.. not ehen theres a mad foreign mu tanking and theres only three days of training at stake. Nonetheless point taken. We failed to achieve that target
