My memories of the Party Presidency

Day 949, 15:45 Published in Malaysia Malaysia by clanky4

I can recall the first time that I ever had the idea to actually run for party president. It was sometime back in January of 2010 me and Carr De Vaux were joking around and I said that I would give him so competition in the name of destroying Communism. I always enjoy having fun at the expense of others. However we both knew that it was purely a joke and I had no actual intent of returning from eCanada to run.

After awhile of stockpiling monetary funds and wasting it on another weapons company I decided to return eMalaysia in February. This time I was going to run for party president. With the promise of changing the name from the Democratic People’s Party to the Democratic People’s Party is not Communist, or the DPPINC. However I had a new contender, almost every single active member of the Democratic People's Party. Some even went so far as to start a vote to exile me from the party. In the end I lost the election however I did prove that I could rally some voters, I netted about 16 votes.

However that did not break my will, the very next month I made myself a candidate for the position of party president once again. However I was asked by one of the leading members of eMalaysia to resign my candidacy due to a PTO threat within the not only the party but the country.

Two months had passed and I was asked by the current president if I would be interested in being in the party president of the DPP. I was surprised to say the least, I wasn’t even in the country at the time. A little bit of time after that I moved back to eMalasyia and rejoined my original party of the DPP. I decided that if I was going to not only win the election but also get party support I needed to drop the anti communist slogan and adopt a more positive campaign. I made several promises including increasing forum activity, restarting the DPP health care program, continuing the DPP homeless reduction program, and general congressional things.

Arguably the most memorable time of my party presidency was my first day. It was something that I aspired to do ever since I first arrived in eMalaysia 9 months earlier. It would be rather obvious to say that I was excited to be party president. The first thing that I noticed after my victory was that I received a message from the outgoing party president detailing several things that were expected of me as the new party president as well as the “keys” to the DPP’s organization the DAP Fund. The first thing that I did, and possibly one of the biggest mistakes I made, as party president was messaging every single member of the DPP from my citizen profile. My inbox was quickly filled and I was no longer able to view other important older messages, including the message that had the DAP fund’s password within it. During that time I was also invited to attend a meeting among several other party presidents of other major parties. Unfortunately I was unable to attend due to real life time constrictions, fortunately spykerman was able to attend the meeting and fill me in on what major conversation went on.

Despite getting off to a bumpy start I did manage represent the party as a leader. I managed to fill almost every spot in the congressional rooster, despite some people not wanting to move. At the start of the congressional elections I was not actually online, the actual orders were posted by an unknown former leader of the DPP. With the help of many of the former leaders of the DPP I was able to push in more congress members this term then other party this term. I attended a few meetings with former DPP member and current president of the PAFFP, mansour009. We discussed some things about congress and later about the presidential elections. I made it clear that the DPP was going to support and push in Spykerman.

After the congressional elections I was approached by former party president and great help in the congressional elections, Spykerman. She requested to run in the upcoming presidential election. I fully supported Spykerman’s running since she was the main face of suz-haimiz’s administration as well as the Minister of Immigration. Spykerman was undoubtedly ready for this responsibility. However there were also many other people running. Carr De Vaux, former president of eMalaysia, proved to be far more popular and ultimately won the election. I found this odd since Carr De Vaux announced that he was planning on resigning half way through his term. However Carr De Vaux is still a very good leader and was a good president before.
After all of the excitement of the elections I decided that it was time to fulfill my other campaign promises. I decided to start up the forum contests. They were sadly ill fated and completely failed in bringing activity to the forums. After a second try I found that the forum contest would never do what it was actually intended to do. I then moved on to try to restart the DPP welfare program. What I ultimately wanted to do was to make it self sufficient and make it easier to run, sadly I did not succeed in getting the welfare program to work on its own but I did not manage to message all unwell DPP members. However I did manage to set a name for the new committee that handles DPP welfare, the Citizen Welfare Committee. Finally I organized another homeless reduction program. A relatively new DPP tradition that was started by Carr De Vaux. It cost me a good 7 gold to buy the houses but I am glad that we were able to help our new players.

All in all the party presidency was a good experience for me. It helped me to get more serious in erepublik, which I suppose is actually a bad thing. The congress election also thoroughly annoyed me. It also helped to be recognized as a more serious politician in erepublik.
