Join the new world

I’m going to cover a lot of thing that have been building up in me ever since I started playing this game. I will be talking about our media problems, the election process, the upcoming party election, the current president and the list of thing needed for the independence of eQuebec (I had commentated that I would give them a list of what is needed to make them see the true of the situation)


Canadian Media Problem

Aldo the Canadian Constitution guarantee freedom of the press as per this extract of the constitution.

2. Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication:

Individuals are free to express themselves in whatever way they see
fit, and cannot be censored upon the Forums, IRC, MSN, eRepublik, etc.
Media owners can thus print whatever they wish without fear of reprisal
by the government, so long as the content is not in violation of any
accepted terms of agreement affiliated with the service in question.


I think that the official had in mind that the media section in eRepublik was functional and not as limited as it is right now. With so many news players joining all the time and with the fact that the media is the only real way to interact the Canadian society it a pity it only keep 10 articles and the top five most voted.

Most of the time really good article get booted out of the top 10 before they our read by all parties involve and are therefore forgotten. This hurt our democratic process since question goes with out answers.

Now what solution is there for us eCanadian to do before V1 come out and the media section is fixing as the admin said, I can’t wait to see how they fix it. It would be great if you had an option like in YouTube where you only see the article from your subscription and one with the most view article. But that for the future so lest look at a couple of option we can do in the mean time.


1- Limit to on article per day by user. User can always simply modified there article to include new information, or they could simply delete it and repost with all the articles together. We should pm the citizen how do post two or more article in a very short amount of time to simply post one. Most of the time it a new citizen that simply don’t know yet that the game is that limited in that aspect.

2- If you are about to post an article and there is a really hot topic near the bottom that will be lost to those how didn’t have a chance to see it. You could add the link to those Articles to in your article.

3- The creation of a coalition of active members that all votes on government announcement article to keep these articles available longer and also article of quality.


I know this goes a little against the constitution but right now good article are getting bump by one liner. We have forums for those but sadly no one goes on them for a very simple reason, there is simply to many forum created, every party have there own forum and the there the eCanada forum that barely get 2 post a day. So the only way to get you thought now and have a chance at someone answering you is posting in the media section.



Election Process

Until V1 come out the election Process is sadly very undemocratic. There have been many practice use during the last two elections that need to stop. Some of them are within the within the rule of the game simply because they admin didn’t think of those tactic and didn’t put save guard against them and some of the are against the term and condition and if the players how use them don’t stop I will be force to report them to the admin and get those players ban. I didn’t do this because sadly getting some of them ban would hurt eCanada.

Legal Tactic

Now the tactic use that are within the confined of the rule but are wrong and should stop being use. Moving during local election to make someone win or lose. Sadly the admin have not put a waiting time on this to prevent abuse like they did for General election. You cannot say you represent the people of you region if the people that voted for you didn’t live in your region when the debate for election was being done.


The second one I have seen being use is the massive recruitment of players on Election Day to simply vote for you and then die. This is within the rule since they are not multi-account but real people even if the line is questionable since there is no way to know for sure since these player don’t interact with the Canadian society since there only purpose was to vote in the election. I sadly did this also in the local election, I invited my wife to play so she could vote for me after noticing my opponent doing this (my wife found this game to boring so she never bother to play after the vote). But then fell like I was cheating even if this was in the confined of the rules so I stop there and decided to let my opponent cheat his way to victory even do I could have done the same has him and get all my friends to join and vote for me, some might have stayed to play but most would have never logon after.

Again here the constitution has put to much faith in the admin to provide a game that protects the democratic process.

Right to Vote:
Every citizen of Canada has the right to vote in an election of members
of the House of Commons or of a legislative assembly and to be
qualified for membership therein. The Government and the Administration
of eRepublik cannot thus deny certain eCanadians their vote so long as
they are eCanadian Citizens.

Mobility rights:
Every citizen of Canada has the right to enter, remain in and leave
Canada. Every citizen of Canada has the right to move to and take up
residence in any province; and to pursue the gaining of a livelihood in
any province without interference by the Government.


Illegal tactic

I have seen many SO vote in the last election that have happen since I have join the game. Those of you who make your SO vote in election I give you this last warning. Stop now or lose everything you have work so hard to get what you have accomplish, V1 will eliminate SO with a new entity but right now I see SO vote in election even if it clearly stated that they are not allow to do so. I have keep quiet in the pass because so of the guilty so are managers of some of the most successful eCanada companies. But from now on I will report them to the admin if you do so. Please don’t cheat it only a game and there always next month if your party don’t win.



The Upcoming Party Elections


The party leader elections are coming up and I fell like I should tell you all who I support for Party leaders for all Parties.


NPC: Banach

I fell sorry for Tanis because a real life situation cut him off from us when we really needed him. Our party really suffer due to his absence and I didn’t get a chance to really know him. I do know he is a great guy with a cool head and a good politician and I wish him luck. Will he was away there was one member that really step up to the plate, and no it not you Augustus, you are a good shaker of cage and you bring good ideas to the table, they just always need to be water down a little, You will always be a valued member of any party but I dough that you will ever be able to unite all eCanadian an be a leader.

I’m talking about Banach. He keep us all inform with his greatly writing Journal the Ottawa Guardian and debated well with other parties on policies matters to make the NPC look good. He also to charge of the military when strong leadership was needed when war arrived and we found out that it was in no state to fight in a coordinated manner after being left unattended by the Minister at that time.

CS😨 jbdivinus

This guy has showed only great love for eCanada and it citizen. He was the first mayor to actually become active and force other mayor to do the same after being elected. Now the position of Mayor is an active role thanks to him and not a position given to party members for there loyalty. Next local elections should be interesting. He is the type of leader that I can see uniting all parties behind him for the good of eCanada. If sadly now is not his time I hope that he is giving the chance to prove himself in the near future.

CPP: ?

Here it difficult to see who can really bring back this party to life. Kommie seem like the obvious choice due to his experience but is he really able to function in the political sphere with all the big fish. I have rarely seen him post article or comments debating issued. They need new blood in that party and someone new with new ideas is what is needed if they have a chance to grow or they will fall into obscurity and be forgotten. I can’t wait to see someone in there post there plan for there party to see if there is light at the end of the tunnel or not for the CPP

CHAOS: Clown Prince of Chaos

The pure Charismatic persona of that leader is something all party should thrive for. With only 23 members they end up with 25 votes for congress. He is able to go get the vote of the undecided and the easily impress. He has a way of making any policy look ridicules and he brings good humour to eCanada. This is one party I hope we never lose because it adds a good flavour to our political spectrum.


PQ: Eric Boucher

Eric Boucher has been able to get a good turnout at the last two elections ever since he created the PQ with the help of Bruno Tremblay. I don’t know if he or Bruno or both of them are the one that made sure all there members show up to vote but one thing is for sure his only rival Bruno has stated he only a militant and not a leader making his job for the leadership a walk in the park.


CLP: Smook McSmok


Anyone but Toby sadly and Smook look like a better candidate. The CLP fail to make it to the top 5 for the general election and where not able to recruit any member since the second day of there creation. Talk about a waste of 40 gold. They need leadership to get there numbers up or we will never hear of them again and this was all for nothing.


Conquest:?

Having been kick out of the top five and shown no real effort to recruit new members to balance this, this party seem to be doom to be forgotten. Hopefully someone will be able to revive them. I got to be nice here I’m employed by members of Conquest lol.




Current President: Cottus Arci

Well it all started well with are new President it appear the election was a clean as the election process can be with no real major fraud to report. On day two he posted a progress report of the entire thing he had completed and I felicitated him on his work so far because he had done a lot in such a short period of time. And then I started to notice some weird thing happening. First he sold the Q3 Company to a foreign interest. The new owner a soldier for Sweden who is fighting against us stated that he didn’t know the current president it was simply a very cheap price for a Q3 company. Cottus should have auction off this company with the accord of congress. It seem that Cottus remark on NPC policy about the president taking all the decision without getting it voted by congress doesn’t applied to him. The CSD in a minority government and one I would say with them being tied with the NPC in numbers of seat and should act that way. Cottus doesn’t have carte blanche to implement all the policies in his platform. Now if for some stupid reason the constitution said otherwise I suggests congress propose an other amendment to change this because we don’t elect a King that make all the decision without consulting the congress.

Also for some reason, our entire Minister where unable to access there Ministry SO to provide resource to our soldier after our renew involvement in the Hungry-Romania war. So my congratulation for his first article where giving out to fast since he didn’t really have all thing running like he lead us to believe.

I sincerely hope that Cotus Arci learn from these mistake and improve because for good or for worst he is our President for the month of September and we all need to be able to rely on him to make sound decision.



List of thing eQuebec need to be able to have there independence.


If you really don’t care about this skip to the end. It a promise I had posted in a comment during the local election to show the reality of the situation and to prove to them that working with eCanada was actually better for them.


1- An active population that rival any current country in eRepublik. This right now is around 300 strong, but due to the location of eQuebec it would need to be closer to 400. Also not that as the population of eRepublik increase this number also increase. And don’t forget that most eQuebecois will move to eCanada if you do become independent and have a majority to do this.

2- A huge treasury of around 1000 gold to be able to recruit mercs and defend you new country if eCanada or eUS decide to attack you. This of course needs to be higher as the total population of eRepublik increase also.

3- A highly Train Population. This goes without saying, but since right now you are focusing on recruiting new players to achieve this they will be behind in there military training compare to the near 500 active eCanadian that do not favour a independent eQuebec.

4- International allies. This goes without saying again but if you haven’t notice alliance rise and fall a lot faster here then in the real world. I dough that there are many Country that are willing to make alliance with a region when it in there interests to make alliance with country. The recent response from eFrance clearly shows this.

5- Industry in all field with active workers and nearly all Q. You can’t depend on imports because your small market might not be worth the 25 gold for the export licence.

6- V1, this is a good one, will V1 really allow region to become independent or simply allow conquer country to become independent via a new system. No one knows what will really come out of V1 and you can only do what is within the limits of the game. V1 will also bring new thing that might hamper the independent movement. Resource. Quebec being only one region will be dependent on the rest of eCanada for all the other resource.


I have solution for these entire things but I’m not going to tell you simply because I don’t bring RL situation to an online game. The History of eCanada is not the same history of Canada.



This was my very long rant about a bunch of thing and I hope you will comment on anything you want. I’m not a great writer and I never claim to be. Next time I will probably be writing same article for Banach to put in his paper instead of wasting media space. But this was simply to big of a rant.
