My aspirations as Party President of the PCP

Day 1,030, 13:23 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by cas3

Greetings eUK,

If you don't know me, my name is cas3 and I am writing to tell you a bit about my plans for my term as Party President this month. I will try and keep this as brief as possible and spare you my life story 😛

The PCP is a party that fights for fairness and equality and these are qualities which I wish to be the defining features of my month as PP. During my tenure I wish for our party to progress in two areas in particular, highlighted in the Party Constitution:

1.2.1 We believe in supporting and guiding the less wealthy and powerful because the eUK can only be as strong as its weakest citizen.

1.2.3 Everyone should have a say in how this country is run, regardless of wage, political direction or status within the eUK.

So what are my plans for the PCP? Well they are, although not limited to, the following..

Communes:
Ahhh, the glorious communes of the PCP. Running successfully for a very long time now, yet still not as great as they could be. There has been a restructuring in the last month or so which has streamlined a lot of the workings of our communes, and now is the perfect time for expansion. I wish to see more people brought in to our communes, especially the newer players who can struggle at first. As well as this I want to make sure that we also continue to offer food at fair prices so that the worker’s of this country who are already exploited by profit-hungry GMs can still afford to eat.

Whether the recent changes to work skills prove to be beneficial or not remains to be seen. However it should make things easier for the running of our communes, and so companies which had to be put out of operation I will now look to re-establish given that labour will be easier to find.

Party Structure:
The party has various committees to deal with areas such as legislation, the economy and media; and I wish to reintroduce the heads of these committees. In an ideal situation they would be unnecessary but with the dwindling activity of the eUK and its parties, including the PCP, I think we need to have someone to give them the drive and focus that they need.

With this in mind I will be looking for people for the following positions, so if you are a member of the PCP, old or new please keep an eye on the forums where you can apply shortly:

Commissar for Legislative Strategy
Commissar for Economic Strategy
Commissar for Social Strategy
Commissar for Election Strategy
Commissar for Press

Political aspirations:
The PCP had an excellent congressional election result last month, and I wish to see us do just as well in this month’s election. As well as each member being able to exercise their political views as individuals, I would also like to see us take a common stance of many issues. Although we share many of the same values and ideals we sometimes lack unity in congress, and I wish to see this change. I envisage that this party can become a potent unified force in congress which constantly puts pressure on other parties to accept legislation and reforms which benefit the people of the eUK - by offering a fairer economy and a more democratic system of governance.

As well as this I would also like to adopt TUP’s policy by requesting that all PCP congressmen who are elected donate some of the gold from their treasure map reward. A percentage will be decided upon so that those who get less will not feel hard done by, and those that get more can contribute a fair amount to the party funds. This money will then be used for the good of the party in the form of advertising campaigns to support future election campaigns.

As well as this I wish to look to the international stage as well. The PCP is part of an international organisation called the Internationale, which brings together various left-wing parties from around the eGlobe. I hope to maintain our position as one of the more active members and make sure that we endeavour to help our allied parties achieve their socialist goals in any way we can.

Our current system

Social media:
The final thing I wish to add is the addition of social media to the way in which PCP members can be kept up to date on party news. I have set up Facebook and Twitter pages for users of these services which will allow people to keep in touch with what is going on. I would hope that eventually the vast majority of active members will see news updates through their social feeds rather than relying on the party to mass message them. This will decrease the workload (and boredom) of the PCP members that have to mass message, although we will never be able to get rid of messaging campaigns completely. The Facebook and Twitter pages will be updated with various updates, ranging from election results to important polls on the forum for members to vote on.

My term will of course, not be limited to these things and I will endeavour to deal with issues as they arise in the pragmatic approach that I always tend to have. At the end of the day I will try to support the party any way I can, and help us to carry on down the long road to equality and fairness for all in the eUK.
