Day 809, 15:11 Published in USA North Korea by Cesog fillireb

Greetings Citizens!

In the theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Br04U0mXIw

I am running alongside the incredible Daniel Dodge to be the VPP of the AAP.
First off, Daniel Dodge is an amazing person, and deserves to be PP for the sole fact that he has done so much to help the AAP, and the country.

I would like to say congratulations to President Josh Frost, and to Vice President Max McFarland 2 on their win, as well as to Piginzen and Emmanuel Cruise on their campaign.

AAP is an extraordinarily large party, but many of the members are inactive. This is a huge problem, and the one that I aim to spend as much time as neccesarry to create a more active party, which is beneficial to both the party itself, and more importantly the country. Retention is at an all time low, and while there is little we can all do to help, that little is better than nothing. I also will focus on interparty relations. Every election day, and the days that precede it, parties do not just get competetive, they get nasty. This is a terrible problem that leads to issues such as 5 PTO congressmen getting elected. I aim to mend the relations between the AAP and the rest of the country.

I copied and pasted our goals from his Party President campaign announcement below

---
If elected Party President I plan to focus on two things: member retention/activism and accountability

-Member retention/activism:
Simply put, we need to get more of our members to stick around and
play the game. We may have the most members, but that hardly
means we are the most active. I would like to work on boosting member
activity, getting them engaged and invested in eRepublik, the eUS and
the AAP. I want to see more members volunteering in game, I want to
see more activity on the forums and more interaction on IRC. Over the
coming days I will outline in more detail how I plan to do that.

-Accountability:
As a political party, we (the AAP) are effected by the actions of any one
of our members. For the most part we do alright, but during my time in
the AAP I have seen things done and said that should not have been,
actions taken that reflected poorly on the AAP and harmed our overall
image. I want to see the AAP doing what is right and I want to see our
members well educated in the ways of the game. Though sometimes
beyond our control, I want to avoid some of the infuriating situations of
the past few months, situations such as:

-not endorsing a POTUS candidate
-endorsing a no-name for POTUS (no offense Sterling)
-favoritism of AAP candidates over all others
-mishandling of POTUS Primaries

Some of these were caused by headless chickens I know, but some
could have been avoided with better judgement.

Now you may be thinking, "Golly gee-willikers Dodge, don't we want AAP candidates to win?"
My response would be, "Of course we do little Jimmy (in this hypothetical you are a 9 year old boy
from the rural midwest.) We want as many well-qualified AAP candidates in Congress as possible, and it would be nice to see an AAP POTUS someday soon, but that is not the end all be all of eRep
existence.

Having spent a few months in both Congress and the CEC I can say with a fair amount of confidence that in some cases we have taken our eye off the ball. In the end, the goal of our party, and any party for that matter, during Congressional elections is to craft the strongest Congress we can. There have been some months where we have run sub-par candidates, others where we have sniped strong candidates from other parties just to get "our guy" in. This attitude needs to stop. Our guy is whichever candidate will do the best job in Congress, regardless of party.

I don't expect this stance to win me a lot of votes, but it is what I believe to be right, and if you expect anything less from a Party President, then you should vote for someone else.

I will provide more details over the coming days, however, if you have any specific questions, comments or concerns please feel free to PM me and I will respond as quickly as I can.

Vote Daniel Dodge on February 15th!

Respectfully,
