Átmegy a valódiba. Kiömlik a korlátozott környezetből a teljesbe.
Valós közösséget hoz létre a virtuálisból.
Ez az érték.

On the Move
The world is on the move. Warriors go after the battles, civilians go after the elections, companies go after the resources, smugglers go after the prices, workers after the best salaries, fortune-hunters go after the fame... and admins go after the events, the bugs.
The wars undulate, go over countries, in their wake peace comes or takeover; the battles run down a region and gold shadows their wake; and newspapers move around and their articles flood countries... Society is on the move too, it is changing, forming, creating its system, independently from game-structures, its leaders and organizers and opinion-leaders and prophets or Cassandras.
The game brought together the people but the game is not enough to keep them together. A goal to conquer, to regain, to get fame and places in the rankings is not enough if the community behind them do not form a coherent group, if it has no common idas, goals, cohesion within its members. If they only have game-goals, then attaining them they will leave or loose interest in it - grow bored, content, frustrated by everpresent bugs, the older players leave - and recruiting only fills the ranks, it cannot replace the tanks.
IRL meeting is a way to weld the community together. To give everyone something that they can think of when seeing an avatar on the screen, to see what others are really made of and what their decisions will be, to make real friend instead of just clicking on a name, or even form closer relationships. And the more meetings are the better; the longer meetings are the best. Not only an embarrassed and self-conscious few hours in a party-enviroment, but days spent together makes you really know others.
Those who form a group IRL will not ever really leave the game. Even if they do for a specific reason, they return, for they have a reason to return - connections. People.
The eworld is on the move. Moving on to IRL. Spilling out from a restricted enviroment into reality.
Creating real community from a virtual one.
This is the value.

true.

Scrap that, let's TO Estonia IRL 😉
Estonia is a fabulous place IRL. 🙂
nice but because of the nature of the game i am sorry that a lot of people from other countries wouldnt prolly get that well on IRL ... what i mean by this is that chances are that if lets say quicksilver would meet han solo IRL she would prolly stab him in the face 😉 just an opinion. good article btw 🙂
pSYoniK
you mean Han Solo is an a.hole IRL?
pSYonik: I am not a stabbing type of person IRL and I do not think that Han is the same there as ingame. 😛
I have had my fair share of internet-connected people meeting IRL (from various forums), and I can tell you that a lot of misunderstanding and exaggeration disappear when adversaries meet face to face.
