More than a year!!

Day 437, 14:33 Published in USA USA by SebastianA

It was in the day of Beta testing for the very new world that its perhaps was not in its birth, but
surely still with its umbilical chord attached faithfully to its body. It was the time where only "friends" could visit the new baby on special invitation, and it was after much searching through forums and so that I, SebastianA finally got my hands on an invitation to the beta testing of Erepublik.com. In my wiki site, which both will give little and incorrect incorrect information, it states that I was born in South Africa, that I live in Indonesia- and that is about all the information you will get - though at my 1 year birthday I wish to share something about himself as I have been in the ageing new world for an entire year.

January 2008: I was born in the country where I come from in rl- Norway. That was not too bad of a choice as that was the period where Norway and Sweden were perhaps the strongest countries, and the reason why Norway is today the country with the biggest land area after taking over Russia. Though Norway was not as big as this in January (as far I remember) it
obviously provided work, food, and some activity. It was the time when "sjefen" was the second official president of Norway. During this time you could not just look for a job offer and take it as it fitted you. First you had to post a CV out on the human market, then you had to preferably contact the general managers yourself to try to acquire work for a living. Perhaps a more stressful system if you were running low on food and wellness.

Though I didn't live long in Norway, since I was coming to a new world there was no reason stay in the old-country and play it safe. So I, and my caravan of RL friends, Jeffa, n1ce, Tobbelulle, Alling, Gvergal etc. all got our moving tickets and moved to eSouth Africa. Our "mission," if you will, was to create our own micro environment in South Africa, a scarcely populated area- mainly because
there were no food companies, hardly any company at all in the little country to support the population, anyway. As we arrived we found the user Arabian, a multi accounter who obviously had run eSA all by himself with his MA's. Jeffa collected gold from all of us and started the successful company "eBabb" as the only food company in the country- he had good opportunities obviously.

Though personally I joined erepublik most because of Political interest .So living in South Africa with a bit more isolated, open political window managed to acquire the position as Party leader, for the party he renamed to "Liberal Party of South Africa" or LPSA for short. I designed the logo for the party myself, and acted as party leader from March 2008-April 2008. I was elected party president after Jeffa, the bugger had acted in some kind of dictatorship as he acted as president, and the only GM in SA at the time! After Jeffa's president period I was elected president aswell with LPSA. My important views were: low taxes for cheap production to make the SA companies large in export, mutual protection pacts for such a small country, and trade agreements- in the way of getting foreign companies into SA driving the prices down further. I may add that I fulfilled all of these goals pretty well, and established the eSA constitution, though I am not sure if it is still active. My main opponent at the time was Batzi, who still lives in South Africa and served as President after me. As myself he was also an immigrant to eSA, but came from Sweden.

Though darker times came to South Africa, by the end of my president term- or by the end of April, the population had risen to just below 100, Indonesia had occupied Australia, and was now nabour to SA. We all feared that Indonesia would continue attacking and move into eSA. What I did was to talk to bigger countries such as eUSA, eNorway, eSweden, eItaly etc. and get mutual protection pacts. My main argument was the if Indonesia had gotten SA, they would be open to South America, and Europe. South America was weak at the time and could make South America a stepping stone into eUSA. I also talked to the Indonesian president at the time, Isnuwaranaat, though at that time he said that he didn't have interest to capture eSA, and that Australia was more to have fun. Though obviously the next president was more eager to capture the little African country. This is the “famous” Indo-south African war.

However my presidency ran out, I didn't go for a new campaign. Many of my friends where sadly leaving the game, and the probability of Indonesia to attack eSA was absolute. At that time, I actually was ready to leave the country for a fresher start, and to a more organized country. I helped briefly in the Indo-South African war, but I decided shortly after to move to eUSA- Sacramento, California.

I am still before the summer 2008 though I was active for awhile, his interest and activity fell accordingly over the summer. I also had a hectic exam/party period from about May-June which also lowered my activity. Luckily I was kept alive by another friend of mine- kare1, and it was also he who made his interest come back. As I returned to erep, I started working again, joined the military- where I still serve in the Marines under my Lieutenant Panther. Because of deeper and more advanced politics which I have no real experience in, I retired slowly to become more of an active warrior. I reckon this was actually just before the V1 was launched, but I'm not going to check that up! Anyway, the V1 came, and started messing around with the stuff many of us had gotten used to. Personally I don't think it is too much reason to complain. Yes there are some small problems here and there, and No everything is not perfect- but I am having fun and can't say it really bother me much.

Today I am perhaps more known to be a silent citizen and just take my orders in the military, though I posted a humorous article about the eMarines of eUS which for some reason got stirred up to elevated levels of necessity if I can say it myself.
(http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/you-think-we-dont-we-are-armed--703067/1) Lately I have served in France, Argentina, Sweden, England, Indonesia, South Africa and some others, though I always have a tendency to come a bit late into the war with little weapons.

That was the little story about me the last year!

I wish you a great day, and a happy birthday to myself!🙂

SebastianA
