More Grievances
Hamiltenor
My last article was not supposed to be that short. I had written a well thought out article addressing my three major annoyances: the new hospital system, these "treasure" maps, and elections. My post was cut short and now I have another to add, the publish inconsistencies.
Starting with the new hospital system.
Only being healed what wounds I sustain in ballte is the same in my mind as letting a soldier die of an infected paper cut because he got it before the battle started. It's ridiculous that I've had to gift myself three wellness from my organization every stinking day to work at 100 percent for my employer. To keep from having to log in, log out, then log back in on my citizen account I bought myself a Q5 house. Does anyone else have 35 gold lying around to buy one?
In addition to higher level players, the new players are the ones that suffer the most. Without the means to gift themselves, they get by on what little money they can scrounge, if they can keep a job that is. As you know, many employers require you work at 90+ wellness, how is that possible with the new system in place?
How can they justify this change? Hospitals are supposed to heal ALL of our wounds, especially after we risk our necks in battle. Way to treat your veterans eRepublik. Glad you think so highly of us.
Moving to these awful new treasure maps.
I'm still waiting for the .3 gold I'm owed after gaining a hard worker trophy. Who's with me here? It's not fun to get less gold, in much the same way that fun size candy is in no way more fun than regular size. Give us our just desserts, because we've earned them.
I could see if there was simply too much currency floating around, but this is a small matter of .3gold. It's not so much the amount as it is the principal. They're supposed to be random.. where's the logic in that?
Finally addressing elections.
One of my good friends Gambit60133 has already run in several elections only to be outright denied the post, even after gaining the most votes. First he wasn't in a "valid party" in eUSA and then him, I and another friend moved here to eIreland where the people must be more understanding and close-nit. With fewer people, less territories, it seemed like a good idea. He failed to garner enough votes.
It's discouraging to see him lose in every congressional election. I would like to be elected because frankly, there's not much else that would keep me interested. Making decisions for the masses and representing the fine people of Cork and Kerry would be a thrilling experience. Being privileged with the support for such a win isn't something I have. I'd need your support, and more importantly your votes.
It's not like I can stroll out to the town square and meet everyone. I'd love to show you I'm a kind-hearted person and mean well. I know how to conduct myself and fancy myself a pretty spiffy wordsmith.
Now, let me know what you think. In addition to getting my opinion out there, I enjoy hearing what you have to say, as long as you can be civilized about it.
See you later space cowboy.

Ah, the mystical spinning of a tale by the hamiltenor. These are always fun to read, because they inspire me to write. I think my favorite part was when you basically said "Its disappointing to see him lose, so I think you should vote for me." So you know what hami, you got my vote. Next election for you, then?
It's on, we've got a while now to prepare our campaign. Gain some followers and accomplish what we set our minds to. Let's get the word out!
Head-to-Head? I'm game.
Hamiltenor I -> <3 u !!! The new hospital system makes me feel like i am living in america or something.... but yeah dude you haz mah vote and my support if your seriously considering running. Maybe you can repeal this freaking HOSPITAL system that no one likes because I cannot afford a Q5 house either!
I find myself largely in agreement. I wouldn't mind the treasure maps if I was at least guranteed the 5g I used to get for a hardworker medal even if I chose the "wrong" path. I don't like feeling like I'm getting jipped out of .3 gold, even though it is a small amount.
I'm not big on the new way hospitals work either. Like you said it's hard enough for new players to keep their wellness up, this system does seem to be easier to work around for the more established players.
Politics are politics... they appear to be the same in game as they are in rl, I don't see anything about that changing a whole lot. Good article. Voted.
Bungielickedmymellons, (what a name), actually, you can find the best medical care in the whole world in RL United States... Try getting the same level of care in Britain or France, or Canada for that matter.
I agree with the hospital thing in game, I can never work at full health or fight as often.
@ Bristel
What?? I thought you lived in America in RL. Medical care there is renowned for being terrible aswell as only for those who can afford health insurance, hence why a lot of people in Florida make the short trip to Cuba for healthcare and some of those who can afford it, fly to Europe. In France, if you're on holiday (without insurance) and get hit by a car, suffer we'll say, two broken Femers, severe spinal damage and go into shock...you'll get treated for free, no problem. Try that in McAmerica lol.
@ Article
I dunno, I prefer the new hospital rule because before, there was essentially no need for Q5 food. This way it's improved the economy and made it more difficult to remain at 100 wellness. It's hardly a fun game if nothing's hard.
As for the treasure maps, you can't really be complaining here, just because you got 0.3 less Gold. You wouldn't complain if you got an extra 0.3 Gold. It just adds more fun to the game not knowing exactly how much you'll get.
As for politics....can't really argue with you there
Citizen snap pretty much said what I was gonna.....
On the treasure maps. I'm still not sure if their intention was to reduce overall gold flowing in or just make the rewards more exciting! I guess noone in Ireland has won a treasure of the kings yet?
And politics.....

Nice article Hamiltenor, I can understand all of your grievances.
The first two things very much grind my gears and are very annoying changes. I wouldn't mind too much but for the fact that they're so widely unpopular!
As for the third one, I have a good bit of experience of the agony and ecstasy of Congress elections. Let's hope you experience the latter some time soon.
I feel the same as Snap and SP.
Interesting to hear your views, but futile to bang your e-head against a wall (believe me, I have the scars to prove it 😛 )
And re suity-stuff, politics, well you picked one hell of a country to try out that ambition. eIreland is possibly the most suited-up nation in the eWorld, in my experience of having travelled around a lot, anyway.
Good luck with it... you'll need it 😉
@ Akina... What?!!?
Thats insane... you must come from a very wealthy background and be able to afford the best possible health insurance.
I hope to gawd you are trolling though.
Hamiltenor your wrong the new hostiple rule is better than before it makes the game more changling for us to playy nad for the tersusre maps they realy add a great kick to the game since you dont know what your gonna get and for policts I agree with ya.
@raveno9 you can't even use the correct "you're" and you've been elected to congress already? If that's the case, then I better get elected. No offense, but you could at least glance over your post before submitting it, there are glaring grammatical and spelling errors.
Those in congress never stop campaigning, because the next election is always right around the corner.
